Media that understated the threat and severity of coronavirus critical of Trump for doing that too

NY Times:

Analyzing the Patterns in Trump’s Falsehoods About Coronavirus

For months, the president has downplayed the severity of the pandemic, overstated the
impact of his policies and potential treatments, blamed others and tried to rewrite
the history of his response.
The media is trying to challenge the President's credibility on the subject and ignore its own credibility.  The same media that says he did not act quick enough criticized him for acting too soon and too much in banning travel from China which was critical to slowing the spread of the disease.  It would have been even more effective and sooner if China had not lied about the human to human transmission of the disease.  It is this kind of reporting that is the reason people trust the President more on the issue of the virus than they do the media.
