Florida outlaws the 'squatters right' idiocy

Red State: If you had been told, say 20 years ago, that if you left your home unoccupied for a period (times vary in different states) and new "tenants" moved in on their own (in New York, for just 30 consecutive days), those "tenants" would acquire legal rights to stay put, for at least the time being, even after you proved ownership, what would you have thought?  Me, too — I just can't include it in this article. As " squatting " continues to spread across the country, including by illegal aliens, and squatters have become savvier about their "rights" — which should be  zero  — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday announced, "We are ending it," as  reported  by my colleague Sister Toldjah.  DeSantis signed into law a unanimously passed  bill designed  to combat so-called "squatters' rights" and which puts the power back into the hands of law-abiding property owners and local law enforcement. The push-back against squatters

Red State: Between Ron DeSantis  scoring  yet another victory against Woke Disney on Wednesday and the recent  settlement  on the Parental Rights in Education law where not a word of it was changed, it's been a pretty good month for the Florida governor, who continues to walk the walk when it comes to delivering results for the Sunshine State. It is hard to understand why squatters on someone else's property have any right to live there.  It is not clear why any state is allowing this kind of taking.

The so-called squatters' right movement

Daily Mail: A TikTok influencer is advising his followers on how to 'invade' American homes and invoke squatter's rights, making it difficult for them to be removed from properties. Leonel Moreno , who goes by @leitooficial_25 online and appears to be a Venezuelan migrant, has told his followers that under US law, 'if a house is not inhabited, we can seize it'. He is referring to squatter's rights, or adverse possession laws - a common law principle that allows an illegal inhabitant to acquire ownership of a property based on continuous occupation without the legal owner's consent. Moreno, alleging he has friends who 'have already taken about seven homes', argued the only way for migrants to not live in the streets or be a 'public burden' is to 'seize' and 'invade' abandoned properties. The now-viral video, which has been viewed almost 4million times, has prompted outrage from many social media users. Some have claimed Moren...
