The Comey indictment

Federalist Wire: ... House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) took to CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, staunchly defending the recent grand jury indictment of former FBI Director James Comey, emphasizing that the charges reflect the impartial application of justice rather than political vendetta.  In a heated exchange with host Jake Tapper, Johnson rejected accusations that the indictment was orchestrated by political motives. Tapper pressed, “As a constitutional attorney and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, do you believe it’s acceptable for any president to publicly or privately instruct their attorney general to prosecute a political opponent and go as far as firing a U.S. attorney if they don’t bring charges because they don’t think the case is strong enough?” Johnson countered sharply, clarifying that the indictment was not a directive from the White House but the result of a grand jury’s independent decision. “I’m glad you brought up the principle, that is ex...

The Comey indictments

PJ Media: A grand jury has indicted former FBI Director James Comey on two counts—false statements to Congress and obstruction of a congressional proceeding, and the left isn’t happy about it. In fact, in the most hilarious case of irony, they’re accusing President Trump weaponizing the system against opponents. But here’s the reality: when you play dangerous political games and cross legal lines, eventually the law catches up with you. Democrats may have looked the other way when it was one of their own under scrutiny, but that doesn’t mean Republicans should do the same. After all, it was the left that spent four years twisting and corrupting the justice system to keep Trump from returning to power. Now that accountability has finally arrived, they can’t stand the taste of their own medicine. But for Democrats, it’s always “different” when they do it. CNN’s Abby Phillip accused Trump of giving orders on whom to prosecute. “He is sending direct orders in public. He is thanking pe...

Comey under attack from right and left

Trending Politics: ABC daytime viewers were undoubtedly shocked on Thursday when “The View” co-host Joy Behar stated that she agrees with President Donald Trump that former FBI Director James Comey may have broken the law. Since Sunday, Trump has made plain that he wishes for the U.S. Justice Department to prosecute the Obama-era director on charges related to the baseless Russiagate allegations. On Wednesday, officials close to the administration announced that authorities were preparing charges that may be announced by the end of this week. Comey’s wrongdoing resurfaced during a 2020 congressional hearing where he allegedly perjured himself while discussing the FBI’s investigation of Lindsey Halligan, a White House aide and Trump’s former personal attorney. Behar agreed that Trump has a point but couched her defense with caution, adding that she also distrusts Comey for opening an investigation into Hillary Clinton’s missing emails 11 days before the 2016 election. “You know wha...

Russia collusion officials lose security clearance

NY Post: Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced security clearances had been pulled from 37 current and former officials who “abused public trust by politicizing and manipulating” information — including several who were involved in a controversial, President Barack Obama-ordered assessment of Russian influence in the 2016 election . An ODNI memo announced that the more than three dozen intel professionals — including a former top aide to Obama DNI James Clapper — had either politicized or weaponized intelligence, failed to safeguard classified info or not followed tradecraft standards. “The President has directed that, effective immediately, the security clearances of the following 37 individuals are revoked,” the Aug. 18 memo stated, according to a copy obtained by The Post. “Their access to classified systems, facilities, materials, and information is to be terminated forthwith. Any contracts or employment with the U.S. Government by these 37 individuals is ...

Schiff's Russia scam exposed

Newsmax: A Democrat whistleblower told the FBI that Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., as a House member, approved leaking classified information in order to discredit President Donald Trump over the since-debunked Russia collusion scandal, according to newly released documents. The documents , which were obtained by Newsmax's Alana Austin, recently were given to Congress by FBI Director Kash Patel, who found the files and declassified them. The whistleblower, a career intelligence officer, worked for Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee for more than 10 years and notified the FBI in 2017 of Schiff's alleged behavior, Just the News reported Monday night. The intelligence officer reportedly considered the classified leaking to be "unethical," "illegal," and "treasonous" but was told not to worry about it because Schiff said he would be spared prosecution under the Constitution's speech and debate clause. DOJ officials cited the same excuse w...

Grand Jury to study Russian collusion hoaxers

Trending Politics: A grand jury has been convened to investigate sweeping claims of corruption by Hillary Clinton , former President Barack Obama, and former top members of the U.S. intelligence community in the run-up and aftermath of the 2016 election, Fox News confirmed late Monday afternoon. In a signed order, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi directed an unnamed federal prosecutor to “take to a grand jury evidence related to a conspiracy to tie then-2016 candidate Donald Trump to the country of Russia,” a Fox anchor stated. The brief one-page order does not indicate whether Clinton, Obama, or other former government officials are targets of the probe. However, other members of the Trump administration have publicly confirmed turning over evidence against those individuals specifically. The DOJ, which declined to comment on Fox’s report, confirmed that Bondi is taking action based on referrals for criminal prosecution from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and CIA ...

Exposing the FBI's role in the Russia hoax

Blaze: As promised, CIA Director John Ratcliffe has declassified the appendix from the 2023 Durham report and provided the documents to Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa). The contents are damning. The Department of Justice authorized federal prosecutor John Durham in 2019 to explore the origins of Crossfire Hurricane, the FBI's investigation into whether President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign conspired with Russia to win the presidential election — which the intelligence community knew full well did not occur. The result was a 306-page unclassified report that exposed the bureau's investigation as an Obama administration hatchet job launched on the basis of "raw, unanalyzed, and uncorroborated intelligence," willfully blind to contradictory information, and conducted without basic due diligence. In addition to exposing misconduct — how an FBI attorney apparently altered an email in support of a FISA renewal request targeting a Trump campaign adviser — and highli...

Obama officials threatened those who wanted to tell the truth about Russia hoax

Trending Politics: A close associate of then-Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper allegedly threatened to withhold a promotion from a senior intelligence officer unless he signed off on the bogus Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) on the extent of Russia’s involvement in the 2016 presidential election. New documents detail a 2017 conversation between an Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) analyst and an unnamed official who worked closely with then-DNI Clapper, according to a report from The Federalist citing sources familiar with the documents. The ODNI analyst was allegedly told that he needed to “outgrow” his refusal to sign off on assessments he had not personally reviewed in order to receive a promotion. “You need to trust me on this,” the senior official allegedly told the analyst. The report comes just days after current DNI Tulsi Gabbard declassified a series of documents outlining how Clapper, along with then-CIA Director John Bre...

Brennen, Clapper and Comey accused of lying

Victor David Hanson: ... There are three blind mice involved in this tale: John Brennan, the former CIA director; James Clapper, the former director of national intelligence; and James Comey, the former FBI director. And they all have new manifestations of their untruthfulness. Let’s start with John Brennan. He’s very angry right now because the trove that was released by National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard of new documents and investigations may or may not have criminal referrals come out of them, and Attorney General Pam Bondi may file new charges. The problem that Brennan has is that he went to a meeting and he presented a false picture of CIA assessments. The so-called CIA heads of various divisions found no Russian collusion. They said to John Brennan, “There’s nothing there that we can see that Donald Trump colluded with the Russians.” He rejected that, cherry-picked four or five other analysts, and then presented a false picture to Barack Obama . Or did he? Or did...

FBI investigating those behind Russian collusion hoax

Washington Times: The FBI launched criminal investigations into John Brennan and James Comey over possible wrongdoing related to the Trump – Russia investigation, including alleged perjury to Congress, sources say. CIA Director John Ratcliffe sent evidence of wrongdoing by Mr. Brennan to FBI Director Kash Patel to investigate for potential prosecution. The referral, which was first reported by Fox News Digital, described Mr. Brennan’s and Mr. Comey’s interactions as a “conspiracy,” which could open up a wide range of potential prosecutorial options. ... This is a worthwhile investigation.  The Russian collusion hoax was one of the biggest political frauds in US history, and a lengthy investigation showed there was no merit to the allegations by those responsible for it.  See also: FBI Investigating Brennan, Comey's Handling of Trump-Russia Probe

Bongino discovers secret Comey files

PJ Media: In a stunning interview on “Fox & Friends” on Thursday, former Secret Service agent and current Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino dropped a bombshell that could reignite scrutiny of the FBI under former Director James Comey. Bongino revealed that his team recently uncovered previously hidden FBI documents from Comey’s tenure — and the details could be explosive. “Because of Jim Comey, because he cannot control himself and his emotions. He is a child. He is a big child,” Bongino said, blasting the former FBI director. “Jim Comey, who wants you to belie — Jim Comey taking a shot at the president, ‘Oh, look at me, I’m such a victim. The president’s going after me.’ He’s making a ton of money on this book. The only person that got prosecuted was the president. Uh, Jim Comey, we’re finding stuff even now.” According to Bongino, while recent leadership changes have sparked internal cooperation at the FBI, that hasn’t stopped disturbing discoveries tied directly to the Comey...

Secret Service investigating former FBI director

Image
Federalist Wire: ... The Secret Service has launched an investigation into former FBI Director James Comey following accusations that he incited violence against President Donald Trump through a cryptic Instagram post. The post, which was deleted shortly after sparking outrage, featured an image of seashells arranged to form the numbers “8647,” accompanied by the caption, “Cool shell formation on my beach walk.” ... The controversy erupted on Thursday when Trump administration officials and the president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., interpreted the post as a veiled death threat. In restaurant and bar slang, “86” often means to remove or eliminate something—or someone. Given that Trump is the 47th president of the United States, critics quickly connected the dots, viewing the numbers as a coded call to harm the president. White House deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich condemned the post on X, writing, “While President Trump is currently on an international trip to the Middle ...

Gabbard taking Comey threat against Trump seriously

Red State: As RedState has reported , Comey issued a thinly veiled call to violence against the President when he posted a picture of a seashell arrangement reading "86 47," claiming to have stumbled upon the display during his walk on the beach. The "86" portion of the message means to " get rid of ," though some believe it means to remove a person through violent means. Comey has denied knowledge of the nefarious meaning, which seems far-fetched for the former head of the FBI. Additionally, this was already a very public debate in 2020 when Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer had an "86 45" display on her desk . He knew what he was doing. ... Comey's opposition to Trump has not endeared him to a majority of Americans.  I know Trump can be brutally frank when dealing with some people, but the fact is, the Trump presidency has been a net plus for most Americans.   Trump has managed to tame the inflation caused by Biden, and his presence has ...
