Left still does not get Trump supporters

NY Post: The obvious reason behind Trump’s undying political strength is somehow still dumbfounding ignorant Big Media elites ... Once again, the hatred for all things Trump has blinded them to the impact the cases are having on the electorate. Rather than scare away most of the GOP and independent voters, the cases are drawing supporters to him. In large part, that’s because all have been brought by Democratic prosecutors, effectively confirming the “weaponization of law enforcement” argument. Each case also features something not quite kosher, such as the scandal involving Fulton County, Ga., District Attorney Fani Willis , who looks to have hired her lover to be the chief prosecutor and lied about it under oath. Then there’s the fact that Joe Biden escaped prosecution despite having boxes of classified documents while Trump faces serious charges for a similar offense. And don’t forget that Biden made it clear he wanted Attorney General Merrick Garland to prosecute Trump for Jan.

Houston not prosecuting cases because of lack of cops

Jazz Shaw: Something is definitely amiss at the police department in Houston, Texas, and it's a problem that's been brewing since well before the border invasion began. Houston has one of the  highest per capita crime rates  of any city of any size in the country, but amazingly, that's not the entirety of the problem. The Houston Police Department is investigating crimes and bringing charges as they should be, though it's more difficult to keep up during the current era of soaring crime rates. But in the cases where they do manage to launch an investigation,  roughly ten percent of those cases have been suspended  without a resolution, with the department citing a "lack of personnel" as the reason for setting them aside. In the past decade, more than a quarter million cases have been suspended under this code, including more than 4,000 sexual assault investigations. What can be done about this? (Daily Wire) Around 264,000 criminal cases, including more than 4

Democrats attack on US democracy

I&I: The Supreme Court told President Joe Biden that he didn’t have the authority to forgive student loan debt. But he did anyway, bragging that the Court “didn’t stop me.” So why do we even have a legislative branch and a high court if the president is going to make law as if he were a king? It’s Biden’s party, and its activist media, that has been carping for years about losing “our democracy.” Yet when a Democratic president bypasses the checks and balances that are the backbone of our republic, the three co-equal branches framework of government that is intended to guard against descending into a dictatorship, they celebrate rather than condemn. Maybe it’s because they care about the integrity of our system of government only when it’s making policies they want. In June 2023, the Supreme Court, in a 6-3 decision , struck down the Biden administration’s plan to cancel up to $400 billion in student loans, which it had announced in August 2022. In her concurring opinion, Justice

Hunter Biden testimony conflicts with other evidence

Just the News: In his opening statement to the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday, Hunter Biden told investigators that he did not involve his father in his business deals. Yet, his assertion directly conflicts with publicly available evidence, Hunter Biden’s own statements, and documentation and witness testimony secured by the committee. "I am here today to provide the Committees with the one uncontestable fact that should end the false premise of this inquiry: I did not involve my father in my business. Not while I was a practicing lawyer, not in my investments or transactions domestic or international, not as a board member, and not as an artist. Never," he said in his  opening statement  obtained by  Punchbowl News . Contrary to that claim, here are some of the documented instances where Hunter Biden involved his father, Joe Biden, in his business deals with foreign partners: Cafe Milano Meetings In 2014, Hunter Biden hosted a dinner meeting at Cafe Milano in the Ge

Biden ignores crimes by illegals in the US

Daily Caller: President Joe Biden failed to mention the recent death of a University of Georgia nursing student, allegedly killed by an illegal immigrant, while giving a speech on his efforts to address crime across the country. Biden gave an unexpected address on “his Actions to Fight Crime and Make Our Communities Safer” on Wednesday, emphasizing that “public safety and crime reduction” are a top priority for him and his administration. Despite Biden’s emphasis on public safety, he ignored the recent death of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old University of Georgia student, who was allegedly killed by Jose Antonio Ibarra, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela. (RELATED: ‘Joe Biden, You’re Wrong’: CNN Panelists Urge Democrats To ‘Be More Aggressive’ On Crime) Riley’s friends reported her missing Thursday after she failed to return from a run on campus, The New York Times reported . The 22-year-old was found by university police in a patch of forest by a lake with “visible injuries” and was u

Musk exposes Dems' reasons for wanting open borders

Jeff Charles: ... Elon Musk wrote a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday highlighting what many know but Democrats don’t want to admit: They want more illegal and legal immigration because they believe it will give them certain electoral advantages over the long term. Dems won’t deport, because every illegal is a highly likely vote at some point. That simple incentive explains what seems to be insane behavior. It has become so brazen that a gang of illegals can beat up police officers on camera in Times Square, get out of jail for free and *still* not get deported! Instead, a partly federally funded NGO bought them free tickets to California … At the heart of Musk’s post is a straightforward premise: More immigration will eventually give Democrats an electoral edge over their political opposition. However, there is a component to this that Musk might be missing. It is not only about securing the votes of these individuals. Yes, when they manage to shove through another amne

Time does not appear to be on the side of Jack Smith's Trump case

American Action News: George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley said Wednesday the Supreme Court gave former President Donald Trump a “real victory” by taking up the case of his presidential immunity. The Supreme Court announced Wednesday it would take the case after Trump applied for a stay of an appeals court ruling that rejected his arguments that he had immunity from prosecution. Trump’s attorneys accused special counsel Jack Smith of having “a political motive” to try the case before the 2024 presidential election. ... “The real victory here for Trump deals with the calendar,” Turley told “Special Report” host Bret Baier. “You know, the overriding push of Smith, the special counsel, has been to get a trial before the election. He is running out of runway. If this opinion doesn’t come out until June, perhaps, you have to remember that even if Smith wins, the mandate goes back to the district court, which has to handle all the pre-trial motions. That could take

Hunter and the Biden family business

Red State: The House Oversight and House Judiciary Committees finally managed to get Hunter Biden in to testify behind closed doors on Wednesday.  But before he testified, he issued a statement that is pretty typical of the ever-changing nonsensical spin that the Bidens have spread throughout the scandal. They keep playing word games and as what they say is debunked they revise what they said and then pretend like they always said it.  Hunter claimed that he "did not involve my father in my business."  ... So just ignore all the emails, his father meeting with the business associates, Hunter taking those business associates to have pictures with his dad, the Vice President, Biden having dinner at the Cafe Milano with some of them. We are just supposed to pretend we didn't see all that, and it didn't mean anything.  Forget that Joe Biden did not tell the truth when he said he had never spoken with Hunter about his business dealings.  ... "You do not have evidence

Putin threatens to attack NATO

National Review: Russian president Vladimir Putin on Thursday threatened Western nations with the prospect of nuclear war, saying Moscow has the ability to strike “targets on their territory” if they continue supporting Ukraine. “(Western nations) must realize that we also have weapons that can hit targets on their territory,” Putin said during his annual State of the Nation address to the Russian parliament. “All this really threatens a conflict with the use of nuclear weapons and the destruction of civilization. Don’t they get that?!” Putin’s warning comes after European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen suggested using frozen Russian assets to fund the Ukrainian war effort. In a Wednesday speech, she said there is “no stronger symbol and no greater use” for the Russian profits than to buy military equipment for Ukraine. Days before, French president Emmanuel Macron said sending Western troops to Ukraine through NATO should not be “ruled out.” This idea has been rejected b

The dueling border battle between Trump and Biden

Brandon Judd: Former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden will hold dueling border visits in Texas on Thursday, February 29. But if Democrats are expecting Biden to put up an epic fight, they are going to be sorely disappointed. Trump has done his homework for several weeks. He has deliberated about the best place on the border to visit with several people, including myself, and he made a wise decision. He chose a location that will highlight Biden’s massive failings — Eagle Pass, Texas. On February 23, Trump’s team strategically released his intentions to visit the border. The leak elicited the exact response he was hoping for from Biden. The knee-jerk reaction from Biden set in motion a border visit that saw him put together a trip to the safe haven of Brownsville, Texas. TEXAS BORDER RESIDENTS 'NOT HAPPY' AHEAD OF BIDEN'S VISIT: 'HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT HE'S DONE' Trump will be at Shelby Park, a location that Texas Governor Greg Abbott was forced

Ukraine attacks on Russian fossil fuel production impact exports

Telegraph: The Kremlin has announced a six-month ban on petrol exports after Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries left Vladimir Putin’s regime scrambling to meet domestic demand. The ban, which comes into force on March 1, was confirmed by a spokesman for deputy prime minister Alexander Novak who said it would allow for “planned maintenance” of refineries. It follows attacks on Russian facilities by Ukrainian drones in recent months, which have harmed the country’s ability to refine crude oil into usable products such as petrol and diesel. Russia previously imposed a similar ban between September and November last year in order to tackle high domestic prices and shortages. Then, only four ex-Soviet states – Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan – were exempt. This time, more Russian neighbours will be exempt, including Mongolia, Uzbekistan and two Russian-backed breakaway regions of Georgia: South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Oil, oil products and gas are by far Russia’s biggest ex

The ridiculous weaponization against Trump and Musk

Breitbart: Businessman Joe Lonsdale said Saturday on CNN’s “Smerconish” that he believed there is “clearly weaponization” of  the Justice Department against former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk. Anchor Michael Smerconish said, “My next guest co-authored this Wall Street Journal op-ed with Jeb Bush under the heading, Elon Musk and Donald Trump Cases Imperil the Rule of Law.” He asked, “I’m curious your co-author, Jeb Bush is no fan of Donald Trump. Why did he feel compelled to weigh in on this?” Lonsdale said, “I’ve never given Donald Trump a cent either. I love America. I’ve been a lot of businesses in this country. I love building, love investing here. And this is very scary. I see the government weaponized against my friend Elon Musk. Listen, I don’t love Donald Trump, but I was just with a bunch of my business friends who don’t love them either. All of them thanked me for writing this.” He continued, “I don’t think Trump necessarily handled this perfectly. It’s not a $400,00

Big Green presents threat of big black outs

Power Line: People around the world are increasingly realizing that “green” energy is actually black–as in blackouts. Thus, in today’s  Telegraph : “The UK is much closer to blackouts than anyone dares to admit.” We are heading for a big electricity crunch as it is. Whoever wins the general election, the next government will be committed to decarbonising the National Grid – by 2035 in the case of the Conservatives and by 2030 in the case of Labour. That means either closing all the gas power stations or fitting them with carbon capture and storage technology – which does not yet exist on scale in Britain and whose costs are likely to be massive. At the same time every single one of our existing nuclear power stations is currently due to reach the end of its life by 2035. If Hinkley C is delayed much beyond its latest estimated completion, we could end up with no nuclear at all. That could leave us trying to power the country pretty much with intermittent wind and solar energy alone –

Judge rejects selective prosecution of conservative group

Daily Wire: A judge in California threw out charges against two far-right political agitators, saying the federal government engaged in “selective prosecution” by charging right-wing rioters but not the far-left agitators they fought against, and who did the exact same thing. Robert Rundo and Robert Boman attended a pro-Donald Trump “free speech” rally in Berkeley on April 15, 2017, as members of Rise Against Movement (RAM), a “far-right, white nationalist” group that engaged in violence against left-wing groups like Antifa. One of those groups was By Any Means Necessary (BAMN), which would descend upon right-wing events to shut them down and start fights. “Antifa and related far-left groups decided they needed to ‘shut this down.’ … They came prepared for violence, bringing weapons including pepper spray, fireworks, knives, and homemade bombs,” Judge Cormac J. Carney of the US District Court for the Central District of California wrote on February 21 . “And they used those weapons, a

Biden's Trump paranoia

Federalist Wire: The White House can’t hide how bad Biden has been as president. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see it. And now Biden’s hilarious slip of the tongue has Democrats cringing with embarrassment. President Joe Biden faced criticism on Thursday for claiming that “nine heads of state” approached him and told him that he just “had to win” the 2024 presidential race. Noting that the forthcoming election is looking increasingly like a rematch between Biden and his 2020 opponent, former President Donald Trump, Biden claimed that those heads of state had told him that the states of their various democracies will be jeopardized “if the other guy wins.” ... “As I walk out of meetings, a head of state will find an excuse to come up close … and say ‘you’ve got to win,’” Biden said at a recent fundraiser in San Francisco. “Not because I’m so special. ‘You’ve got to win because my democracy is at stake if the other guy wins.’ Nine heads of state have done that with me,” Biden in

Biden accused of planting operative to indict Trump

Matt Margolis: There are brand new concerns about the Biden administration's interference in the 2024 presidential election.  The  Fulton County District Attorney’s Office admitted during a hearing last month that they communicated with the Biden White House as it built its case to prosecute Donald Trump. Now, sources have since come forward to reveal that the Biden administration allegedly placed a Democrat operative into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis's office with the specific goal of targeting former President Donald Trump. The sources, who spoke to Breitbart News on the condition of anonymity due to fear of retribution, describe the District Attorney's Office environment as "corrupt." "One significant figure is overlooked in the Fulton County scandal concerning Fulton County prosecutor Fani Willis and her alleged lover and fellow prosecutor Nathan Wade, the sources said: Meet Jeff DiSantis — the county’s Deputy District Attorney with profes

Trans alleges they were 'misgendered'

PJ Media: Winsome Earle-Sears Calls Trans State Senator 'Sir,' And All Hell Breaks Loose A transgender-identifying state senator in Virginia had a hissy fit after Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears referred to him as "Sir." State Sen. "Danica" Roem, a man who identifies as a woman, stormed out of the chamber after making a parliamentary inquiry to Earle-Sears. "Madame President, how many votes would it take to pass this bill with the emergency clause?" he asked Earle-Sears, who was presiding over the chamber. "That would be four-fifths, senator," Earle-Sears replied. "And what would be the exact number for that, Madam President?" "Yes, sir, that would be 32," she replied. A triggered Roem quickly relinquished his microphone and stormed out, and the chamber was forced to go into recess twice. ... It is not clear to me why some people pretend to be a different gender than the one they were born with.  It is even less clear wh

Hamas's mass murder of Israeli chickens

Wall Street Journal: Hamas’s Agricultural Terrorism The group also attacked farms on Oct. 7, aiming to harm Israel’s food supply and ‘break the community.’  For a week following Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack on Israel, the stench of 300,000 rotting chickens rose from Kibbutz Alumim, 2 miles from the Gaza border. Three coops were burned to the ground, but they weren’t the source of the smell. Terrorists had destroyed the automated food and water dispensers for the remaining five structures housing the flock, and after the attack no one was around to tend to the chickens. The birds died of hunger and thirst, and their bodies decomposed. Residents who returned to survey the damage wore masks as they scooped up and buried the corpses to prevent the spread of disease. ... Hamas is evil.  They not only killed thousands of chickens but also thousands of Israeli civilians.

The sanctuary city fallacy

Red State: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has taken a lot of incoming verbal fire from The Usual Suspects on the left and in the media ever since he decided to  turn  the tables on the Biden administration in 2022 and start bussing illegal immigrants to Democrat-run sanctuary cities in order to make a statement about the dire nature of the Biden border crisis. New York City has been a frequent stop on the Abbott Express Bus over the last two years, so much so that NYC Mayor Eric Adams has taken to repeatedly  trashing  Abbott as the Big Apple gets a little taste of what Texas border communities do every single day. READ:   Greg Abbott Makes Perfect 'Told Ya so' Point on Illegals in Response to Eric Adams' Whinefest But with the crisis hitting a  fever pitch  in Adamstown, and with angry and frustrated voters giving the Adams administration a piece of their mind, Adams has gotten  desperate , so much so that he is now doing what Fox News border crisis reporter Bill Melugin  describ

Venezuela exporting murderers to US

Cornyn, Cruz to Secretary Mayorkas: Release Files On Migrant Murder Suspect’s Immigration Parole Status  U.S. Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) sent a letter yesterday to U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas with their Senate Judiciary GOP colleagues demanding answers on how Venezuelan national, Jose Antonio Ibarra, was granted parole into the United States. By law, immigration parole is only to be granted at the discretion of the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on a case-by-case basis, in instances of “urgent humanitarian reason or significant public benefit.” Ibarra is the suspect charged in the murder of Augusta University student Laken Riley. They wrote: “We are deeply saddened by this senseless and preventable act of violence, and we write today demanding answers about how Ibarra was allowed to enter and remain in the United States.” “We demand that you show us your work. No later than March 8th, please provide us

Destruction of Hamas Israel's goal

Reuters: Israel is committed to winning the war in Gaza and eliminating Hamas regardless of the economic toll on the country, Economy and Industry Minister Nir Barkat said on Monday. Israel's $500-billion economy has taken a hit during the more than four-month-old war against the Palestinian militant group in Gaza, during which thousands of people have left the Israeli workforce and gone to serve in the military. But Barkat, who is widely seen a potential candidate to succeed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu , made clear that national security was not only paramount but also vital for Israel's economy. Asked what the risk of a bigger trade deficit and another ratings downgrade might mean for Israel, Barkat told Reuters: "Look, we're committed to win the war. We're going to win the war regardless of anything." "I think when people look at the economy of Israel, they want to make sure, first of all, we're a secure ... country," he said during a

The absurd persecution of Trump

Vince Coyner: Like millions of Americans before me, I’ve done exactly what Donald Trump did; namely, sought a loan based upon my best estimate of what my property was worth—and I didn’t look to what the tax assessor said in reaching that value. However, as part of the Democrats’ lawfare, Letitia James twisted a perfectly ordinary act into something evil, and a partisan judge put his imprimatur on her efforts. If it’s allowed to stand, the results will be devastating, not just for the political class but also for normal Americans. In December 2020, I had to put my home on the market and move 1,000 miles away. Two months before, I’d considered refinancing my mortgage, and the bank gave me a valuation of $285,000. I thought it probably should have been higher, but didn’t really feel like taking the time to investigate because I wasn’t really that worried about it. That changed in December when I was forced to worry about it. So, I reached out to a realtor friend (an actual realtor, not

Americans respond to inflation by shopping for lower cost items

AP: Inflation has changed the way many Americans shop. Now, those changes in consumer habits are helping bring down inflation. Fed up with prices that remain about 19%, on average, above where they were before the pandemic, consumers are fighting back. In grocery stores, they're shifting away from name brands to store-brand items, switching to discount stores or simply buying fewer items like snacks or gourmet foods. More Americans are buying used cars, too, rather than new, forcing some dealers to provide discounts on new cars again . But the growing consumer pushback to what critics condemn as price-gouging has been most evident with food as well as with consumer goods like paper towels and napkins. In recent months, consumer resistance has led large food companies to respond by sharply slowing their price increases from the peaks of the past three years. This doesn't mean grocery prices will fall back to their levels of a few years ago, though with some items, including e
