Democrats frustrated by the 1st Amendment?

Jeff Charles: Former Secretary of State John Kerry recently argued that the First Amendment is an obstacle for government agencies to crack down on supposed “misinformation” and “disinformation." Kerry’s comments were made during a panel at the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in New York City. He started by noting that the “dislike of and anguish over social media is just growing and growing and growing,” which is “part of our problem, particularly in democracies, in terms of building consensus around any issue.” Kerry lamented that “The referees we used to have to determine what's a fact and what isn't a fact, they've been eviscerated to a certain degree. People go and then people self-select where they go for their news or for their information, and then you just get into a vicious cycle.” The former presidential candidate continued, explaining that it is more difficult to come to an agreement than it was in the past because of a more democratized media environme...

John Kerry implicated in firing of Ukraine prosecutor

PJ Media: The evidence that Hunter Biden was selling influence with his father’s full knowledge and participation is already quite substantial. Between bank records, paid FBI informants, IRS whistleblowers, witness testimony, and heck, even Joe Biden’s own braggadocio over the firing of Ukraine prosecutor Viktor Shokin, it’s frankly shocking that Biden hasn’t already been forced out of the 2024 election. And yet, there are more pieces to this puzzle, making the picture even clearer. It turns out that Hunter Biden’s former business partner, Devon Archer, met with then-Secretary of State John Kerry mere weeks before Shokin was fired in 2016, according to a report from Fox News.... ... As we know from Archer’s testimony before the House Oversight Committee, Burisma’s leadership called on Hunter Biden, who was sitting on the Burisma board at the time while earning $1 million a year, to help the company, which was under investigation. A call to Washington, D.C., was made two days befo...

Chicoms hacked State Department before meeting with John Kerry

Headline USA: Hackers linked to the Chinese Communist Party reportedly broke into the emails of U.S. Chinese Ambassador Nicholas Burns and Daniel Kritenbrink, assistant secretary of state for East Asia, prior to a meeting with climate czar John Kerry . The hacks occurred just before a four-day visit from Kerry, the special presidential envoy for climate, to discuss climate policies with officials from the Asian superpower and geopolitical rival, according to the Daily Caller. Initial reports of the hacks did not detail the extent of the damage done, but hackers may have gained access to hundreds of of thousands of U.S. government emails. Burns, Kritenbrink, Kerry and Secretary of State Antony Blinken all met with Chinese officials—including Chinese President Xi Jinping —in mid-June. Investigators considered the meeting between Xi and Blinken as the possible point of the initial attack, though Blinken and his closest advisors were not said to have been compromised. The stole...

Climate kook Kerry and the Russian war of aggression

Jeff Dunetz: John Kerry: A Narcissist Who Doesn’t Care About Dead Ukrainians ... Anyone with a heart felt sick after watching one of the many videos such as the one above. John Kerry doesn’t have a heart. His concern was not the carnage Putin was inflicting on the people of Ukraine. He was worried about what the conflict will do to the climate. That is his job in the administration and is important to the key left-wing of his party. ... ‘But it could have a profound negative impact on the climate obviously. You have a war and obviously you’re going to have maximum emissions consequences to the – but equally importantly, you’re going to lose people’s focus, you’re going to lose certainly big country attention because they will be diverted and I think it could have a damaging impact, he continued. ... Kerry doesn't even understand how the US reduction of production funded Putin's war by restricting the supply and pushing up the price.  We had no material impact on emissions...

Kerry is America's enemy of energy

Wall Street Journal: John Kerry’s Financial Crusade Against Oil and Gas   Public officials have told the climate envoy to stop trying to raise energy costs for U.S. consumers. ‘The reality is the Biden administration is not standing in the way of increasing domestic oil production to meet today’s energy needs,” Deputy Energy Secretary David Turk asserted at the World Petroleum Congress in Houston last week. Really? He might want to check with John Kerry. The president’s climate envoy has been pressuring banks and financial institutions to reduce their commitments to U.S. oil and gas companies and join the Net-Zero Banking Alliance, which would hobble the ability of oil and gas companies to increase production. Citi, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase signed on to the alliance this year. ... It is the goal of the Biden administration to raise the price of oil and gas to the point that less efficient and less reliable alternative en...

Kerry's latest bad deal

Washington Examiner: ... First, this is the earliest proof of U.S. climate czar John Kerry's diplomatic folly. Only this week did Kerry declare victory with a U.S.-Chinese carbon declaration. That declaration carried no enforcement mechanisms but does include an implicit U.S. commitment to provide Beijing with U.S. taxpayer dollars to support carbon mitigation efforts. Kerry also allowed that declaration to give China its "phase down" template to then apply to the broader COP26 declaration. Second, this "phase down" insistence reflects the Communist Party's fear over its situation at home and abroad. Xi faces rising international pressure over his territorial and human rights policies. But it's also clear he believes that China must continue to use coal in such amounts as to attract international scrutiny. Xi appears to have assessed that to accept the "phase out" language would open him to unacceptable risk of retaliation by foreign partne...

John Kerry is a terrible negotiator

Washington Examiner: P resident  Joe Biden  must not really believe in global warming. If he did, he would not have appointed the world's worst negotiator as his climate czar. John Kerry, as President Barack Obama's secretary of state, negotiated the Iran nuclear deal. He handed the world's No. 1 terrorist regime cash with which to conduct further terrorist operations. In exchange, Iran's theocratic regime made several promises it never intended to keep and, in many respects, did not keep. But Kerry was so desperate to get a deal signed (any deal at all, no matter how bad) that he allowed himself to be outplayed by Iranian negotiators. In August 2013, Kerry made a deal that essentially abandoned all hope of holding Syrian dictator Bashar Assad accountable for using chemical weapons against his own population. Through his bumbling brand of diplomacy, Kerry handed control of the situation to Assad's ally, Vladimir Putin, who went on to violate the deal repeatedly. It...

Kerry climate for slavery

Washington Free Beacon: Kerry Lobbying Against Legislation To Ban Import of Chinese Goods Produced by Slave Labor   Import ban could agitate Beijing as U.S. pushes for climate deal China is unlikely to give up slavery or the burning of fossil fuels for the slaves to produce solar panels.  His whole approach on this subject is ludicrous.

Joint Chiefs more focused on 'climate change' than Taliban?

Vijay Jayaraj: Climate 'crisis' more dangerous than terrorism? Get real, Biden ... "This is not a joke," said Biden . "You know what the Joint Chiefs told us the greatest physical threat facing America was? Global warming." During Biden's presidential campaign, John Kerry said , "America will soon have a government that treats the climate crisis as the urgent national security threat it is." And here we are. In April, U.S. secretary of defense Lloyd Austin termed climate change an existential threat, saying , "From coast to coast and across the world, the climate crisis has caused substantial damage and put people in danger." ... So while the Biden administration and the Joint Cheifs were worried about climate change and "white supremacy" the Taliban snook up on them and retook Afghanistan.  The Democrats seem to be out of touch with the real world.

The Kerry coverup exposed

Ed Morrissey: Zarif audio translated: No, Israel's actions weren't public domain when Kerry revealed them; UPDATE: Cruz demands resignation   John Kerry   vehemently denied   ever saying anything at all to Iran’s foreign minister about   covert Israeli actions in Syria . The White House insisted, somewhat contradictorily, that Kerry had   only discussed reports already in the public domain . However, a fresh translation of the leaked audio   by the Washington Free Beacon   shows that Mohammad Javad Zarif had no prior knowledge of Israel’s involvement in those actions: Leaked audiotape of Iranian foreign minister Javad Zarif indicates he had no knowledge of covert Israeli military strikes before former secretary of state John Kerry provided him with the information, new details that contradict the State Department’s recent defense of Kerry. These details are likely to further fuel calls from leading Republicans for Kerry’s firing or resignation....

Kerry's denials of telling Iran about Israeli ops don't ring true

streiff: On Sunday, the New York Times committed a rogue act of journalism. It reported on an obvious violation of the Espionage Act by Joe Biden’s Special “Presidential” Envoy for Climate, former Secretary of State, former Democrat presidential candidate, former senator, and perennial douchebag John F. (Mr. Teresa Heinz) Kerry. You can read the whole story in Shipwreckedcrew’s post  NYT: John Kerry Disclosed Israeli Military Operations in Syria to the Iranian Foreign Minister , but this is the synopsis. In March of this year, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif set down for a seven-hour “oral history” (I was going to make a joke about Kamala Harris and throat swabs, but I’m much too mature to do that) with an Iranian economist/journalist named Saeed Leylaz. The oral history was not intended to be released any time soon as the interview slams the martyred Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Quds Force Qasem Soleimani, whom a US Hellfire missile  put through a Cu...

Kerry's dealing with Iran look treasonous

Red States: As we reported earlier,  a leaked video has now revealed that John Kerry, who is a “special envoy” to Joe Biden on climate, allegedly ratted out Israeli covert operations to Iran’s foreign minister, Javad Zarif. While the New York Times did include the information in their story which focused on how much the Revolutionary Guard controlled the country, the Times buried it deep in and had just the barest information on it, “Former Secretary of State John Kerry informed him that Israel had attacked Iranian interests in Syria at least 200 times, to his astonishment, Mr. Zarif said.” The Washington Post covered the story and didn’t even include that part. Of course, for Americans that would be the point which would most stand out. Why the heck would John Kerry be telling the Iranians about Israeli covert operations? What else has he told them, when he can’t even be guaranteed to keep that obviously classified information to himself? If he would rat out our allies to ou...

Biden's job killing energy policy

NY Post: President Biden on Friday said people who lose jobs in the fossil fuel industry as a result of environmental reforms must be provided new job opportunities “in the places where they live.” Biden claimed in a speech at the White House that phasing out coal, gas and oil doesn’t require economic devastation in current energy-producing regions. “As we transition to a clean energy future, we must ensure that workers who have thrived in yesterday’s and today’s industries have as bright a tomorrow in the new industries as well as in the places where they live and the communities they have built,” Biden told a summit of world leaders. “When we invest in climate resilience and infrastructure, we create opportunities for everyone. That’s the heart of our jobs plan that I proposed to the United States. It’s how our nation intends to build an economy that gives everybody a fair shot.” Republican critics panned as naive and insincere previous Biden administration attempts to reframe e...

The climate change cult

Drew Allen: For 51 years, climate scientists have warned us of the grave and existential threat of man-made climate change.  In 1970, the Boston Globe published a news  article  with the headline "Scientist predicts a new ice age by 21st century."  Five years later, in 1975, the threat was moved to red alert when the editor of New Scientists  declared  that "the threat of a new ice age must now stand alongside nuclear war as a likely source of wholesale death and misery for mankind."  Avid skiers and winter apparel brands were giddy with excitement — until they received some devastating news. While the predicted ice age never came, and the climate coolers were forced to admit they had been wrong, they assured us that global warming would fulfill their prophecies instead.  In  1988 , scientists and leading climate experts predicted that the Maldives and Manhattan would be underwater by 2018. In  2014 , ...

John Kerry made American and Middle East less safe with his interference in Iran

Fox News: Iranian refugee and former Trump official Ellie Cohanim slammed John Kerry on Wednesday, calling the former secretary of state's backdoor meetings with Iran during Trump’s presidency "anti-American" and an attempt to undermine the administration’s foreign policy stances. During an appearance on "Fox and Friends," the former State Department special envoy called the Biden administration’s talks with Iran to reenter the nuclear deal "diplomatic malpractice" and urged them to stop making unilateral concessions and instead increase demands on the Iranian regime. "What exactly was it that John Kerry was telling them - just ignore America until we’re back in power?" Cohanim said. "It’s kind of unbelievable." NORTH KOREA AND IRAN TEAMING UP AGAIN AS US WEIGHS IRAN NUCLEAR DEAL Cohanim said that the maximum pressure campaign under the Trump administration to hold the Iranians accountable was one of the strongest on the regim...

Germany an example of Democrats failed energy policies

This is from a letter to the editors as the Chicago Sun-Times : Last week, the Sun-Times editorial board  wrote  that “as renewable energy comes online, it will reduce the need for oil imports.” A look at what’s happened in Germany over the past decade proves that conclusion is specious at best. No country has done more to phase out oil than Germany. But petroleum remains the country’s leading energy source —  35%  of the energy mix — a decade after the implementation of its “Energiewende” policy. To meet continued strong demand, Germany imports  98%  of the oil it consumes,  primarily  from Russia.  Seventy-eight percent  Germany’s energy needs are met by fossil fuels and, as Clean Energy Wire  reports , “In the midst of the Energiewende, Germany relies still heavily on imports of fossil fuels.” Germany is proof positive that renewable energy mandates do little, if anything, to reduce petroleum demand. One reason is the fact ...

The Biden executive order on Keystone pipeline is counter-productive

Power Line: Monsieur John F. Kerry is the Harris-Biden administration’s Climate Ambassador. He is assisted in his diplomatic duties by National Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy. Earlier this week they held a press briefing with the psickening Jen Psaki. I have embedded the video below. It is excruciating. The  White House transcript  can be read without the full effect of Kerry’s otherwise audible hauteur. The gentleman from Madame Tussauds killed the Keystone Pipeline in the blizzard of executive orders he unleashed on Day One (White House Fact Sheet  here ). It was executive order 7, by  Politico’s count . There is a revolution for the hell of it quality to the thing that reveals the will to power implicit in the climate charade. As the editors of the Wall Street Journal  point out : The Obama State Department found five separate times that the pipeline would have no material impact on greenhouse gas emissions since crude would still be extracted. Shipping ...

API says Biden energy policies will lead to increased imports, costing hundreds of thousands of jobs and revenue to the government for schools

Rigzone: Restricting development on federal lands and waters is nothing more than an import more oil policy. That’s according to American Petroleum Institute (API) President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Sommers, who noted that energy demand will continue to rise, especially as the economy recovers. “We can choose to produce that energy here in the United States or rely on foreign countries hostile to American interests,” Sommers said in an API statement. “With this move, the administration is leading us toward more reliance on foreign energy from countries with lower environmental standards and risks to hundreds of thousands of jobs and billions in government revenue for education and conservation programs,” he added. “We stand ready to engage with the Biden administration on ways to address America’s energy challenges but impeding American energy will only serve to hurt local communities and hamper America’s economic recovery,” Sommers continued. According to a recent API ana...

John Kerry is a man who started his political career with lies about Vietnam troops

NY Times: With John Kerry Pick, Biden Selects a ‘Climate Envoy’ With Stature Mr. Biden said he would name Mr. Kerry to a cabinet-level climate post, a role laden with political and diplomatic challenges in the post-Trump era. John Kerry made claims of war crimes against his fellow troops which were unfounded.  While they all denied his claims, it was clear to me he made up some of them when he suggested that his claims were known at all levels of command. For a time I was Assistant Commander of the 3rd Marine division Communication Center.  I spent several days and nights reviewing all message traffic before sending it out to addressees.  In the thousands of messages, I saw there were none which alleged events that would be war crimes.  None.  I suspect that what Kerry was relaying were what I would call "sea stories" where troops make up things to impress each other with how badass they pretended to be.  I later served as executive officer of a rifl...

John Kerry accused of lying about knowledge of Hunter Biden's Ukraine gig

Image
Federalist: New documents unveiled in an explosive Senate report Wednesday show former Secretary of State John Kerry lied to reporters when asked whether he was aware of former Vice President Joe Biden’s son serving in a lucrative board position for a Ukrainian energy company. “I had no knowledge about any of that. None. No,” Kerry said in December last year at the height of President Donald Trump’s impeachment process, which shed light on the Biden family’s conflicts of interest in Ukraine. The  new joint report  out from the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee with the Senate Treasury Committee, however, shows otherwise. According to congressional investigators, Kerry’s Chief of Staff David Wade briefed Kerry on press inquiries specifically related to Hunter Biden’s arrangement of recently joining the board of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. Records show Hunter Biden raked in upwards of $50,000 a month from serving on the board despite no pr...
