A Biden-Harris debacle

Red State: ... Harris disqualified herself with ignorant comments, not understanding or perhaps caring that overspending makes inflation worse. She talks about what she would do if she was elected on "day one" -- despite being in power now and not only not solving the problem but making things worse with bad policy. She also praised the "extraordinary Joe Biden."  Meanwhile, Biden couldn't even get her name right, and his brain broke at least a couple of times during his remarks. He also used threatening language against the GOP, saying we are going to "beat the hell out of them." Where is the media to condemn his violence, a little over a month since the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump?  ... Shortly after Vice President Kamala Harris handed over the podium to President Biden on Thursday, dozens of attendees at a joint event simply stood up and left rather than listen to the retiring commander-in-chief. The rude demonstration wa...

US targets Houthis assets in Yemen

USA Today: The U.S. military on Thursday destroyed a ground control station and 10 drones in areas of Yemen controlled by the Houthis – the latest operation targeting their assets since the militant group began attacking commercial and Navy ships in the Red Sea. The strikes were carried out "in self-defense" because the targets "presented an imminent threat to merchant vessels and the U.S. Navy ships in the area," U.S. Central Command said in a statement. "This action will protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for U.S. Navy vessels and merchant vessels." Later Thursday, Central Command said it fought off a Houthi drone over the Gulf of Aden and an explosive sea drone heading toward the international shipping lane in the Red Sea. Two Houthi missiles that appeared aimed at a cargo ship missed the mark and fell in the water, CENTCOM said in a social media posting . The Houthis began a missile and drone campaign on...

Israel rejects calls for ceasefire as long as Hamas has hostages

PJ Media: "We won't stop until victory," said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a short, televised address on Friday. He told the Israeli people that he had rejected U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's suggestion of a humanitarian "pause" in the fighting that does not include a release of their hostages. He also says Israel “will not enable the entry of fuel to Gaza.” He promised that victory will be “sharp and clear” and will “resonate for generations.” For the first time since the war began, we can see daylight between the U.S. and Israeli governments. As Israel continues to prosecute a war that, by necessity, is leading to a high civilian death toll, Israel's friends find it more and more difficult to give the Jewish state unqualified support. I'm pretty sure Netanyahu was aware of this going into the war. It doesn't appear that anything the United States says or does will deter him from achieving his number one war aim: destr...

Israel responds to Hamas tunnel warfare

The Telegraph: ‘Sponge bombs’ are Israel’s new secret weapon to block Hamas tunnels Israel will use novel “sponge bombs” as it fights through the network of Hamas tunnels under Gaza . The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has been testing the chemical bombs, which contain no explosives but are used to seal off gaps or tunnel entrances from which fighters may emerge. The IDF has not commented on the use of the so-called “sponge bombs”, which create a sudden explosion of foam that rapidly expands and then hardens. Its soldiers were seen deploying the devices during exercises in 2021. The army has set up a mock tunnel system at the Tze’Elim army base near the border with Gaza. Troops are likely to face a bloody battle through the tunnels known as the “Gaza Metro” when they launch their expected ground invasion . The network is thought to be hundreds of miles long and dense with traps. It is where Hamas has taken many of the 200 hostages and where its leaders will hope to survive the coming wa...

Air strikes in Gaza intensify as Israel prepares for invasion

CNN: Hamas fighters and Israeli forces engaged in limited clashes inside Gaza on Sunday as the Israeli military ramped up airstrikes on the Palestinian enclave ahead of what its spokesperson described as the “next stage” of its war on the militant group. Hamas claimed its fighters had destroyed two Israeli military bulldozers and a tank in an ambush near the Gazan city of Khan Younis, forcing Israeli troops to retreat without their vehicles. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed its forces had been operating inside Gaza during the incident, and said an IDF tank struck militants who had fired onb its troops. The episode appeared to be one of the first skirmishes between the two sides on the ground inside the strip since war broke out after Hamas’ deadly October 7 attack on Israel which killed more than 1,400 people. The clashes came as the IDF prepares for a potential ground operation in Gaza, amassing huge numbers of troops at the border and pounding the densely populated enclave ...
