Things that cannot go on will not
Victor Davis Hanson:
I have heard there were demonstrators in Brenham which is a little over 20 miles away, but the gatherings were orderly and nothing like the scene in Democrat-controlled cities in Blue states. When I have been to town I have seen no evidence of mayhem, and people of all ethnic groups remain pleasant and easy to deal with.
I am mystified that corporations are removing blacks from the face of their product lines. I share the reaction of their families that this action is uncalled for. Will the same thing happen to Hispanics too?
So far, we have dodged the Mad Max crowds of the left which have spread wreck and ruin in Democrat-controlled cities. Hopefully, these people will come to their senses before they continue to foul their own nest and make their cities less habitable. Meanwhile, it does look like the exit from the cities caused by the pandemic may accelerate. Rents are dropping in San Francisco already and I am also reading about an increase in empty apartments in New York City.
What Happens When the Madness Ends?I live in a rather tranquil part of Texas far from the unruly crowd I occasionally see on TV. I have very pleasant neighbors who go about their lives in an orderly fashion. One of my neighbors is a black woman who calls to check on my wife and me to make sure we are alright. My Hispanic neighbor's major concern appears to be taking care of his herd of goats. A new neighbor who is a professional baseball player is building a new house for him and his wife back in the woods on his acreage.
Today’s corporate revolutionary enthusiasts had better prepare for the inevitable turn.
