Voters in California fed up with liberal Democrat response to homelessness

NY Times:

As Homelessness Surges in California, So Does a Backlash

Tent encampments across California are testing residents’ tolerance and compassion as street conditions deteriorate.
Tents are the new affordable housing in California and the elected officials have no realistic plan for dealing with it.  In fact, they will make it worse with rent controls which will lead to less home construction.  The real way to fix the problem of affordable housing is to give builders an incentive to build more and increase the supply.  California is doing the opposite.

It is also failing to deal with the drug problem and the mental health aspects of the situation.  The state that bans plastic straws, provides plastic needles to the druggies which wind up on the streets.

No wonder so many sane people want to leave the place.
