How to defeat the ISIL insurgency in Europe and elsewhere

ISIL has dispatched around 400 mass murderers to kill Europeans.
The Islamic State group has trained at least 400 fighters to target Europe in deadly waves of attacks, deploying interlocking terror cells like the ones that struck Brussels and Paris with orders to choose the time, place and method for maximum chaos, officials have told The Associated Press.

The officials, including European and Iraqi intelligence officials and a French lawmaker who follows the jihadi networks, described camps in Syria, Iraq and possibly the former Soviet bloc where attackers are trained to target the West. Before being killed in a police raid, the ringleader of the Nov. 13 Paris attacks claimed he had entered Europe in a multinational group of 90 fighters, who scattered "more or less everywhere."

In claiming responsibility for Tuesday's attack, the Islamic State group described a "secret cell of soldiers" dispatched to Brussels for the purpose. The shadowy cells were confirmed by the EU police agency, Europol, which said in a late January report that intelligence officials believed the group had "developed an external action command trained for special forces-style attacks."

This is a long piece that describes how the terrorist are trained and work once in Europe.

To defeat them will require proactive military and police responses.  You can't just respond to attacks like normal policing.

A top priority should be a relentless campaign against the training sites in territory controlled by ISIL.  For reasons that are unclear the Obama administration ahs been reluctant to hit these sites with bombing raids, but that needs to change to deal with the future threats posed by this strategy.  Inside Europe and in the US counterinsurgency tactics must be employed.  This requires increased police presence in neighborhoods where the terrorist congregate and if necessary military patrols like those used to defeat al Qaeda in Iraq during the surge.

The reaction to Ted Cruz's suggestion for increased policing has been hysteria on the part of the left in this country.  The liberal fascists on the left have demonstrated their ignorance in how to deal with this type of threat as well as their hatred of Cruz who they resent for not being a Todd Aiken like mark for them.

The way you deal with this kind of insurgency has been demonstrated throughout history.  For example, the Viking raiders were eventually defeated by the building of strategic fortresses along the invasion routes which effectively cut off the Vikings' movement to contact, as well as their route of escape.  The same thing can be accomplished by community policing and increased patrolling in areas frequented by the terrorists.  It is not a form of harassment to do this kind of policing.  The police can build relationships with honest people int he area and develop intelligence on the movement and other activities of the terrorist suspects.

Liberals need to get over their angst about community policing and stop enabling the terrorists.
