Andrea Widburg: Marjorie Taylor Greene won the GOP nomination for a Georgia seat in the House of Representatives.  Politico paints this as a GOP disaster because it claims that Greene says racist, Islamophobic, and anti-Semitic things.  House Republicans, who have learned nothing from Donald Trump about fighting back against media calumnies, dutifully piled on.  In fact, Politico is defaming Greene, who is not racist, is not anti-Semitic, and is not unreasonably concerned about sharia Islam in American politics. Tuesday's Politico article is entitled " New GOP headache as candidate condemned for racist videos wins Republican primary ."  It relies on an earlier Politico article that purports to have discovered that Greene made "incendiary" comments against Muslims, Jews, and blacks. NY Times: In Wyoming, Conservatives Feeling Left Behind A blanket of baffled worry has descended on those who fear that traditional, rural and mostly white states are losing touch with an increasingly diverse and urban electorate. It is the urban liberals who are being left behind.  They just may not be cognizant of how poorly they are doing compared to the red states where budgets are balanced and jobs are created .  Certainly Texas feels more like a leader than a state being left behind.  It is the place where businesses and jobs are fleeing to, in order to avoid the evils of liberalism.  Who in their right mind thinks, California, Illinois and New York  are the model for the future of this country?  We will let those states continue to be an example of the failures of liberalism and will with all our power and might try to pull this country out of the ugly embrace Chicago Way policies. While Romney and Cruz got lopsided support from white voters, as the presidential ticket did nationally, pre-election surveys by Mike Baselice suggest Romney did 12 to 15 percentage points better with Hispanics in Texas than in California. Obama's big share of the Latino vote in California more closely mirrors his performance in battleground states.  After comparing surveys from California and Texas, Baselice also said Hispanics self-identify as moderate and conservative at significantly higher rates in Texas.
