Making excuses for leftist's racism?

Robert Spencer: WaPo’s Dana Milbank Goes Insane with TDS, Blames Trump for Tlaib’s Anti-Semitism Tlaib has been an Islamist religious bigot since long before Trump was elected or became a political figure.  See, also: “TRUMP MADE ME DO IT!” ...   Milbank no doubt calls this kind of ventriloquist journalism “reporting.” Of course, aside from concluding that perhaps, just maybe, Tlaib is in fact  anti-Semitic , this account deliberately elides acknowledging who are the predominant perpetrators of violence against Jews, just as the left ignores who is the predominant offender against Asians today: it is coming from the left. The  New York Times   recently reported  on rising violence against Asians in the San Francisco Bay Area without once mentioning the predominant race of the people committing assaults on Asians, leaving the impression that it is Trumpsters, even though the number of Trump supporters in the Bay Area can meet in a phone booth. ...

Systemic discrimination in the US aimed at conservatives

Eric Utter: There  is  systemic discrimination, racism and bigotry in this country today. It is directed against small business owners, conservatives, straight, white “cis-males,” Christians, the middle class, firearm owners, traditionalists, those inhabiting flyover country, and Trump supporters. (Reverse intersectionality ensures that those who are members of more than one of these groups face increasing vitriol.) In fact, the only ones  not  targeted by  structural , systemic discrimination and hate speech are leftist elites, certain of their favored identity groups, Antifa, and members of the Black Lives Matter movement (BLM). Don’t believe it? Think of Affirmative Action, race-based admissions policies,  IRS harassment  of conservative groups and individuals, Hollywood’s near ubiquitous portrayal of white businessmen and Christians as deeply flawed or downright evil, and late-night “comedians” ceaseless (and humorless) attacks on all things ...

American Muslims unhappy with Omar's bigotry

Quanta Ahmed: Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), an American Muslim of Somali origin, shames American Muslims with the anti-Semitism she has brought to Congress. As a naturalized American and a Muslim woman myself, it was gratifying to see the first Muslim women in American history elected to Congress inaugurated this year. Now American Congresswomen Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) are among the most empowered Muslim women in the world. They enjoy access to the corridors of American power, the mandate of American constituencies that they represent and influence over domestic and international U.S. policy. Further, as a migrant to the United States, Omar was granted asylum from her Somali origin and rose from refugee to elected politician in 23 years; few other nations can offer a dispossessed refugee such extraordinary opportunity. But as a Muslim devoted to combatting contemporary anti-Semitism by serving within the University of Southern California Shoah Foundation, ...

Omar apologies are not convincing

Washington Examiner: Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., has failed to quell concerns among Jewish leaders and groups both nationally and in her district that she has learned from her recent controversial comments many viewed as anti-Semitic. Jewish leaders told the Washington Examiner that they view her apology as insufficient and fear that she is unrepentant. “I believe that the pattern we have seen is an indication of her attitude on the subject rather than ignorance,” said Minnesota State Sen. Ron Latz, a Democrat, who is Jewish. Omar generated outrage last week with tweets suggesting that members of Congress supported Israel because of financial contributions from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. After receiving bipartisan condemnation for the tweets, Omar apologized for what she then said were old anti-Semitic tropes. Yet, Jewish leaders note that she has run into trouble for similar tweets before, only to refuse to delete the tweets or avoid similar provocative sta...
