Trump focus on issues Biden ignored

Mark Penn @Mark_Penn Crime The president has decided to take tough measures to reduce crime and early indications from DC is that, like the border policy, it seems to be working to make dc safer. So one has to wonder why these issues like the open border and high urban crime problems were allowed to fester rather than be tackled head on. And even obviously exacerbated for a few years resulting in tens of thousands of deaths. But even more of a mystery is why we allowed over 75,000 people to die of fentanyl in 2023 and about 50,000 to die in 24. The president is now taking that problem head on and far more people die by opioids there than by gun or even in motor accidents and yet it’s barely discussed. One wonders why the border, crime and opioids were not front and center in the last administration that instead focused on equity and climate change when 100,000 lives a year could be saved here with the right policies. 2:48 PM · Aug 26, 2025 · 36.7K Views I think the issues...

Trump gets control of the border

Federalist Wire: ... The Trump administration has achieved significant milestones in border security, with a sharp decline in illegal immigration, marking a notable shift from previous years. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data highlights a record-breaking reduction in illegal crossings, alongside increased efforts to combat drug smuggling. In June, nationwide illegal border crossings dropped to an all-time low, according to CBP. This decline is accompanied by historically low apprehension numbers, minimal parole releases, and a rise in drug seizures as authorities intensify efforts against illegal narcotics trafficking. “From shutting down illegal crossings to seizing fentanyl and enforcing billions in tariffs, CBP is delivering results on every front,” CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott said in a public statement. “Under this administration, we are protecting this country with relentless focus, and the numbers prove it,” Scott continued. ... Border Patrol apprehended only 8,024...

US increases border protection

Newsmax: Orange no-entry signs posted by the U.S. military in English and Spanish dot the New Mexico desert, where a border wall cuts past onion fields and parched ranches with tufts of tall grass growing amidst wiry brush and yucca trees. The Army has posted thousands of the warnings in New Mexico and western Texas, declaring a "restricted area by authority of the commander." It's part of a major shift that has thrust the military into border enforcement with Mexico like never before. The move places long stretches of the border under the supervision of nearby military bases, empowering U.S. troops to detain people who enter the country illegally and sidestep a law prohibiting military involvement in civilian law enforcement. It is done under the authority of the national emergency on the border declared by President Donald Trump on his first day in office. U.S. authorities say the zones are needed to close gaps in border enforcement and help in the wider fight against ...

Trump, Homan get control of the border

DC Daily Journal: ... Border Czar Tom Homan announced Tuesday that federal authorities recorded a historic low in migrant encounters at the U.S. border in June, with just 6,070 apprehensions for the entire month. In a post on X, Homan highlighted that this figure is lower than the daily totals seen during the Biden administration, emphasizing that none of the apprehended migrants were released into the U.S. This sharp decline reflects a 93.1% drop from June 2024’s 87,606 encounters, showcasing a significant shift in border security dynamics. Homan noted that June 2025’s total encounters were less than half of a single day’s apprehensions on many days under Biden’s policies. ... I have noted before that I believe Biden and the Democrats wanted the illegals in the country.  It was an attempt to change the demographics in the country to give them a permanent majority.  Voters rejected this policy when they elected Trump and Vance.  Democrats' approval is still in decli...

US beefs up border security

Washington Examiner: The Department of Defense is establishing two new military zones along the U.S.-Mexico border to support enforcement efforts against illegal border crossings. The initiative marks the latest step in the Trump administration’s strategy to enhance military involvement in border security operations, amid a notable decline in illegal migrant crossings in recent months. The two new areas, designated as National Defense Areas, will be located in Arizona and Texas. The Arizona zone will become an extension of the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, while the Texas zone will be integrated into Joint Base San Antonio. These zones will allow U.S. troops to detain people crossing into these secured areas temporarily until Border Patrol agents take the migrants into custody. The announcement follows the recent establishment of two similar zones along other stretches of the border. The military designated a 63-mile-long area in southern Texas as part of Fort Bliss near El...

Venezuelan gang members arrested at US-Canadian border

Image
American Military Action: ... U.S. Customs and Border Protection told Fox News that 40 suspected Tren de Aragua members were arrested between January 20, 2025, and March 21, 2025, at the Ambassador Bridge crossing between Detroit and Canada. According to Fox News, the Ambassador Bridge has a reputation of having confusing roadway signs that cause issues for both U.S. and Canadian citizens at the border. The outlet noted that the bridge has now become a capture point for Venezuelan gang members. Fox News reported that while U.S. Customs and Border Protection indicated that they do not currently have intelligence pointing to any correlation between the president’s border policies and the recent Tren de Aragua gang member arrests at the northern border bridge crossing, former Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Michael Brown suggested that the Venezuelan gang is changing tactics due to the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigrant gang activity. “As a TdA memb...
