Police in Hawaii get it wrong

Red State: Honolulu: Man Stops and Kills Mass Shooter, and Is Promptly Arrested...for Murder The police chief in this case appears to be unaware of the Hawaii penal code that allows lethal force in self-defense.  The penal code is clear: §703-304 Use of force in self-protection. (1) Subject to the provisions of this section and of section 703-308, the use of force upon or toward another person is justifiable when the actor believes that such force is immediately necessary for the purpose of protecting himself against the use of unlawful force by the other person on the present occasion. (2) The use of deadly force is justifiable under this section if the actor believes that deadly force is necessary to protect himself against death, serious bodily injury, kidnapping, rape, or forcible sodomy. (3) Except as otherwise provided in subsections (4) and (5) of this section, a person employing protective force may estimate the necessity thereof under the circumstances as he believes...

Biden aid to Maui a fraction of aid sent to Ukraine

American Action  News: Outrage Grows As Biden Sends Maui, Hawaii A Pathetic 0.07% Of Aid That Ukraine Received When you consider that Joe and Hunter allegedly got $10 million from Ukraine in one of their apparent corrupt bargains, this should not be that much of a surprise.

The serial screwups behind the deadly wild fire in Maui

Image
The Lid: Just when you think that this story can’t get any worse, somehow it does.  It is being reported that the wildfires that we just witnessed in Maui were the deadliest wildfires in the entire history of the United States, and according to Moody’s Analytics, they caused  somewhere between four and six billion dollars  in economic damage.  But the outcome could have been much different if authorities had responded more competently.  In fact, the fire that ultimately completely destroyed Lahaina could have been controlled if fire crews had not  “left the scene even though the fire was still burning” … Maui locals have questioned why the blaze, which developed into deadly wildfires that swept across the island, was left unattended by firefighters hours before it spread. A fire broke out on the outskirts of Lahaina at around 6.30am on Tuesday, August 8 and was declared ‘100 percent contained’ several hours later. Fire crews then left the scene even t...

Biden's bogus response to horrific fire in Maui

Daily Signal: President Joe Biden on Monday compared the horrific fires in western Maui to a kitchen fire in his house during which he “almost lost” his “‘67 Corvette.” Locals condemned the comparison, saying it belittled the disaster that likely claimed over a thousand lives and caused billions of dollars worth of damage to local business owners, families, and Lahaina natives. In an address to a crowd outside Lahaina, the town destroyed by the destructive wildfires, Biden said : Jill and I know what it’s like to lose a home. Years ago now, 15 years ago, I was in Washington doing “Meet the Press.” It was a sunny Sunday. Lightning struck at home, on a little lake that’s outside of our home—like a big pond, and hit a wire that came up underneath our home into the heating ducts and air conditioning ducts. To make a long story short, I almost lost my wife, my ‘67 Corvette, and my cat. “This is the most despicable thing this president has ever said,” a restaurant owner in Kihei, Maui,...

Wowie: Biden in Maui

Daily Mail: MAUREEN CALLAHAN: I demanded doddery Biden get off his sun lounger and go to Hawaii. But after THAT shambolic visit, I take it all back... The people of Maui have suffered enough   We all called for the President last week. Where was he, days after the apocalyptic Maui wildfires? Actually, we knew where he was: On the beach at his shore home in  Delaware . Prepping for his next vacation in Lake Tahoe. Issuing a reptilian ‘no comment’ when asked about the thousand-plus people missing and the Pompeii-like damage and what his plan was. When was he going to visit? For what it’s worth, I wrote an impassioned  column imploring the president to go . Now I take it all back. The people of Maui have suffered enough. Joe Biden finally saw fit to interrupt his second vacation since the wildfires, to don his well-worn mantle as Empathizer-in-Chief, put his feet on the ground in Hawaii and comfort the survivors, 13 days after the fires. It did not go well. ‘F**k you!’...

Hawaii fires and Biden

Kevin Downey, Jr.: ... But Hawaiians need to understand two things: Wisconsin is a swing state, and Hawaii is a shoo-in for the communists in the Democrat Party. Also, the black vote is way more important to them than that of  Polynesian Americans. Please understand that Biden requires spending 40% of his year sunning his bumper crop of liver spots, and he’ll get to you when your number of electoral votes increases and your unshakable loyalty begins to waver. For example, President Joe “totally showered with his daughter Ashley” Biden did the same political math equation for Ohio and decided, that although he’d love the Buckeye state’s delicious 17 electoral votes in 2024, those jackanapeses in Trump-loving East Palestine didn’t merit Biden’s attention. So, screw them, their symptoms, polluted air and water, and dead livestock and pets. The way Biden turned his back on eastern Ohio, considering the state’s electoral votes, you almost think he knows he has 2024 in the bag and ...

Delay in release of water evidently led to the death of over a thousand in Hawaii

Red State: During the inferno that devastated part of the island of Maui, wiping entire towns off the map and possibly killing more than a thousand people (once a full assessment can be made), people on Maui begged state officials to allow West Maui stream water to be diverted to fill up reservoirs for firefighting. That request went to M. Kaleo Manuel, Deputy Director of Hawaii's Commission on Water Resource Management, and he delayed approval of that water for five hours - five hours in which the once-contained fire exploded. By the time the approval was received, workers were unable to reach the siphon release so that the water could be diverted. Now we're learning that Manuel, an Obama Foundation Leader for the Asia Pacific Region, is a climate change activist and DEI devotee who's said, "Like, we can share [water], but it requires true conversations about equity." Glenn Tremble with the West Maui Land Company gave the chronology in a letter sent to Manuel, a...
