 NBCFW: Texas Governor Greg Abbott's (R) office sent out a letter to state agencies and public universities warning them to stop diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in the hiring process, calling it illegal. The message is garnering opposition to it. Last Monday, Abbott's chief of staff, Gardner Pate, sent a memo to state leaders. "As Texans, we celebrate the diversity of our State and the presence of a workforce that represents our rich culture. In recent years, however, the innocuous-sounding notion of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) has been manipulated to push policies that expressly favor some demographic groups to the detriment of others," wrote Pate. It didn't specify what groups, or what prompted the letter.  Daily Caller: The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) announced it was leaving the National School Boards Association (NSBA) on Monday over a review of a letter from the organization that suggested the federal government investigate parents as potential domestic terrorists. The TASB said it was leaving the NSBA over “operational deficiencies” as well as a “lack of internal controls” after the NSBA released a review Friday of the letter that it sent to the President Joe Biden in September 2021, according to a press release.  Washington Examiner: Three Arizona parents are suing their children's district for allegedly compiling personal information in a "secret dossier" aimed at intimidating them. The dossier was intended "to silence and punish dissenting voices and frighten away other potential speakers who might dare express an opposing point of view" and included information on at least 47 parents who spoke out against policies at school board meetings, according to the lawsuit, which seeks general, special, consequential, and punitive damages in amounts to be proven at trial. Jacobson said CRT is not history.  It is racism per se.  While there may be some subtle physiological differences between the races and ethnic groups that should be taught, CRT is not one of them.   CRT is a garbage theory that should have no place in the teaching of medicine.
