Trump reducing inflation

TownHall: President Trump celebrated wholesale inflation declining in August after the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported the Producer Price Index fell .1 percent last month. Economists predicted a .3 percent rise. ... The Labor Department reported Wednesday that its producer price index — which captures inflation in the supply chain before it hits consumers — showed that wholesale inflation decelerated in August after advancing 0.7% in July. Wholesale services prices fell 0.2% from July on smaller profit margins at retailers and wholesalers, which might be a sign that those companies are absorbing the cost of President Donald Trump’s sweeping taxes — tariffs — on imports. [...] Excluding volatile food and energy prices, so-called core producer prices also fell 0.1% from July and were up 2.8% from a year earlier. The numbers were lower than economists had forecast. [...] ... This is a big change from the galloping inflation under Biden, which was sometimes closer to 8 %.  ...

US economy beats expectations

Heritage: Many so-called experts predicted that President Trump’s economic agenda would usher in an inflationary Armageddon. This projection was so often repeated in the media that many Americans, especially Democrats, believed a depression was imminent. Yet the economy is thoroughly beating expectations and consumers’ expectations are becoming increasingly optimistic. Upon taking office again, Mr. Trump reiterated the economic policy goals that he laid out during the campaign: reductions in excessive taxation, burdensome regulations, and government spending, coupled with increases in tariffs and energy production. This was labeled as some kind of toxic mixture. Thus far, though, it’s been an elixir for the American economy, which was suffering from inflation and a general malaise. Consider that when Mr. Trump took office in January, inflation (as measured by the consumer price index) was running at an annualized rate of 5.7%, at which pace prices double in less than 13 years. Wit...

Trump tariffs not the problem critics predicted

Federalist Wire: ... President Donald Trump’s tariff policies, a cornerstone of his second-term economic agenda, have defied dire predictions from corporate media and economic pundits. Despite warnings of rampant price hikes and economic turmoil, recent data shows inflation remains subdued, and the U.S. economy continues to show resilience. On April 2, Trump imposed steep reciprocal tariffs on numerous countries, later announcing a 90-day pause that reduced most duties to a 10% baseline. Corporate media outlets, including ABC News, warned on March 26 that these tariffs “would ratchet up the global trade war, raising prices for an array of consumer goods and risking an economic slowdown.” Yet, inflation has not surged as predicted. In May, inflation rose less than expected, dropping to a four-year low, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). This followed a CNBC report on May 13, which noted that inflation had “eased” in April despite the tariffs but cautioned ...

The Democrat decline continues

Blaze: Democrats lost the White House and the U.S. Senate in November and were unable to make sufficient headway in the House to make their hysterical opposition to Republican initiatives insurmountable. In the months since, they have continued losing in various ways, especially in the way of public confidence. The disapproval rating for the party as a whole was 58.3% as of May 25, according to polling by the Economist and YouGov. A new CNN survey conducted by SSRS and published June 1 revealed that only 16% of Americans figure the party's leaders as strong and only 19% of respondents indicated the party was capable of getting things done. The Democratic Party has apparently lost a lot more than face and confidence — it no longer has a stranglehold on the middle class, a critical demographic that accounts for roughly half the electoral pie . CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten built up to this revelation on Monday, noting first that when it comes to the economy, Americans just ...

Trump cures Biden inflation

Washington Times: Don’t fall for the tariff panic; Trump has already crushed inflation Targeting the runaway government printing press and regulatory state ... Since Mr. Trump announced reciprocal tariffs, the stock market has consumed media headlines. The real news isn’t being told: Mr. Trump’s free market policies are working and making a real impact on working families. Most significantly, inflation is being defeated. According to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on April 10, the Consumer Price Index fell for the first time in half a decade. ... This is another reason why Democrat polling remains in the tank.  Biden's reckless spending unleashed inflation that we are still feeling the effects of, despite Trump's ability to tame it to the point that it is no longer out of control.  But the fact is that cars and trucks still cost significantly more than they did before Biden unleashed inflation.  The price of groceries does appear to be back under...

How the Democrats lost the working class voters

American Action News: Conservative radio host Dana Loesch said on Fox Business Tuesday that there’s a reason why blue-collar workers left the Democratic Party. During an appearance on “The Bottom Line,” Loesch said that for years, the Democratic Party counted blue-collar workers among its staunchest supporters—until the 2016 election cycle. As these workers shifted their allegiance away from former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton , Loesch said that Democrats turned on them. “Democrats were happy to have them until the moment they turned up their noses at Hillary Clinton because they didn’t like what she was offering. And then, in a split second, Democrats began maligning the character of this voting bloc, this blue collar worker, hard working class, middle-class voting bloc,” Loesch said. “They began running them down, impugning their characters, calling them racists and bigots because they didn’t vote for the old white lady who fell down in Manhattan and lost a Tory Burch ...

Media hid economic crisis until Biden left office

PJ Media: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent started off his CBS News interview Sunday by ripping leftist media — including CBS — for pretending Joe Biden’s horrible economy was great until he left office. As We the People picked up extra jobs or lost jobs, as we struggled to pay bills and saw inflation eat up our savings, mainstream media swore we were fools who didn’t appreciate a booming economy. But as soon as Donald Trump took office and inherited Biden-Harris’s economic morass, the media began screeching hysterically about egg prices and insurance costs. As Bessent said, these stooges are total hypocrites. Addressing the ever insidious “Face the Nation” moderator Margaret Brennan, who expressed concern about prices and economic backsliding, Bessent said, “You know, Margaret, what I find interesting is, for the past year and a half, and during the campaign, most of the media said, Oh, the economy is great. It's just a vibe session. Now that President Trump's in office, ther...

Money wasted on the climate kooks retrieved

NY Post: EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced Wednesday that he’s found $20 billion in taxpayer money that the Biden administration “parked” at a financial institution — in an apparent effort to prevent the Trump administration from cutting grants to “far-left activist groups.” Zeldin , 45, explained in a video posted on X that the Biden administration’s obfuscation was unprecedented and he demanded that the unnamed financial institution immediately return the funds to the EPA. “Shockingly, roughly 20 billion of your tax dollars were parked at an outside financial institution by the Biden EPA,” Zeldin said . “This scheme was the first of its kind in EPA history, and it was purposefully designed to obligate all of the money in a rush job with reduced oversight.” The $20 billion appears to be money that was appropriated to the EPA under the Inflation Reduction Act, which boosted government spending on environmental projects. The EPA administrator and former New York Republican co...

Democrat attempts to dodge responsibility for inflation

Image
DC Daily Journal: ... Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner recently confronted former Democratic Pennsylvania Representative Patrick Murphy over the rising prices of eggs and their connection to inflation. During a heated exchange, Murphy attempted to pin the high cost of eggs on former President Donald Trump, while Faulkner reminded him that egg prices had already seen significant increases under President Joe Biden’s administration, especially as inflation reached record highs in 2022. ... Egg prices in the United States have surged by 37% since late January 2024, largely driven by inflation and the ongoing bird flu epidemic. In fact, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has warned that egg prices could rise even further, potentially exceeding 20% this year. This sharp increase in prices has become a point of contention for political figures, with many seeking to lay the blame on the administration in power. Murphy, seeking to attribute the surge in egg prices to former President Trump...

Biden's so called achievements

DC Daily Journal: ... Despite significant achievements under his administration — including the addition of 16 million jobs, infrastructure funding, and investments in clean energy — Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris struggled to convince Americans of the economy’s strength. Inflation spikes in 2022 overshadowed their progress, leaving many households grappling with higher costs for essentials like food, gas, and housing. According to the AP VoteCast survey, over 60% of voters in November’s election described the economy as “poor” or “not so good.” Nearly 70% of those voters supported Trump, enabling his comeback after his 2020 defeat to Biden. In his speech, Biden underscored that Trump would be inheriting “the strongest economy in modern history,” pointing to falling inflation, low unemployment at 4.2%, and record-high applications for new businesses. He touted these accomplishments as benchmarks for the future. ... This is more politics of fraud from Biden.  The jobs ...

Putting a stop to deficit spending

Mario Nawfal @MarioNawfal Subscribe MILEI: ARGENTINA ENDS DEFICIT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 123 YEARS  "The deficit was the root of all our evils—without it, there’s no debt, no emission, no inflation. Today, we have a sustained fiscal surplus, free of default, for the first time in 123 years. This historic achievement came from the greatest adjustment in history and reducing monetary emission to zero. A year ago, a degenerate printed 13% of GDP to win an election, fueling inflation. Today, monetary emission is a thing of the past." Source: @JMilei @agarra_pala Quote Mario Nawfal @MarioNawfal · 11h This is a way to stop inflation.  The US should try it.
