 Daily Caller: Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley confronted a Biden official during a hearing Thursday over the administration’s decision to block mineral mining. Jaelith Hall-Rivera , the deputy chief of state and private forestry at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, was testifying before the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources when Hawley began questioning her about the Biden administration’s decision to prohibit mineral mining on nearly a quarter of a million acres in Minnesota. The administration’s move came after a 16-month review by the Department of Interior, which concluded that the land should be protected for 20 years. The study found that mining for minerals contaminated nearby waters. Hawley began by establishing agreement with Hall-Rivera that critical minerals are essential to U.S. energy security before noting that research indicates demand for cobalt, nickel and lithium are expected to skyrocket over the coming decades.   I agree with Sen Hawley. I don't think Mayorkas has put forward a rational defense of his failure to enforce US immigration laws.

  NY Times: CPAC Crowd Cheers Josh Hawley’s Vote Against Election Results Senator Josh Hawley received a standing ovation at the Conservative Political Action Conference when he reminded the crowd that he had objected to certifying Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory. I think Hawley was right to challenge the unconstitutional changes to election laws and he did so in a constitutional manner.  The Democrats and the mainstream media who tried to cancel him for doing it are the ones who acted disgracefully.  History should remember him as a profile in courage standing up against a liberal mob.

Ted Cruz (R-Texas) over their objections to Electoral College votes. The Democrats  in their complaint  last week said the senators may have engaged in “improper conduct” by filing the objections, even though their actions are allowed under the Constitution.   Washington Post: Sen. Josh Hawley says ‘Antifa scumbags’ terrorized his family’s Virginia home. Protesters say they held a peaceful vigil. Antifa has a history of violence used against what it perceives as its political opponents. It has been using intimidation tactics for years. It is hard to imagine a "mostly peaceful" gathering of Antifa. The story is reminiscent of the famous CNN "mostly peaceful" report with a building burning in the background.  Even the mayor of Seattle has finally realized just who Antifa is. Is there any doubt that the purpose of such a gathering is an attempt to intimidate Sen. Haley for raising questions about what a majority of Republicans see as vote fraud?

  NY Times: With Objection to Biden’s Win, Josh Hawley Puts His Party in a Bind The Republican senator from Missouri said he wanted to draw attention to problems with election laws. But critics insist his bid has more to do with serving his own political ambitions. This is more than passing strange.  Hawley is standing with the majority of Republican voters who think Biden's election was the result of Democrat vote fraud.  It is more likely that the Republican politicians who oppose what he is doing are putting themselves in a bind by rejecting the views of the majority of their party.  It is clear that a majority of Republicans have questions about the validity of the vote.  Telling them to shut up and accept the evils of liberalism is not good politics.   We have a situation where some states ignored the US and state constitution to facilitate vote fraud.  We should not just accept that.
