Wall Street has a notoriously horrible record in recent years of backing presidential candidates who sound good on paper but ultimately turn out to be duds. Add Joe Biden to the list. Not only are C-suite executives at the big investment houses and banks conceding this in private, they worry this misstep could be costlier for the country and possibly their business models than those in the past. First, a little recent history on banks and their bad White House bets. They backed Barack Obama in 2008, convinced his transnational worldview would fit their agenda of globalism and free trade. AP: A Manhattan couple was facing weapons charges Monday after authorities said they found a substance used to make bombs and papers titled "The Terrorist Encyclopedia" in their Greenwich Village apartment. ...  At least one of them has been associated with the Occupy Wall Street Movement.   It is hard to find an innocent explanation for the material found.

The Democrats should be ashamed of their support for this movement of thugs.  What an embarrassment to a political movement.

Washington Post: A year later, Occupy movement struggles for relevance I think they should be embarrassed by them at this point.  They seem to embody all that most people find objectionable about liberals and more.  Those of us not in the one percent at the top find this one percent at the bottom composed of people we do not want to be associated with.  The rich are nicer and much more likely to present people with an opportunity. The rich are also less likely to engage in random acts of rape and murder and public defecation.

Austin American-Statesman: Soon after Occupy Austin protesters began their months-long demonstration at City Hall last fall, Austin police officials assigned at least three undercover officers to infiltrate the group to gather intelligence on any plans that might break the law.  The officers camped with other participants in the movement, marched in rallies and attended strategy meetings with Occupy Austin members. The officers also may have crossed a fine line in undercover police work: They helped plan and manufacture devices - often called "lockboxes" - that allowed Occupy members to tie themselves together during a protest in Houston, according to interviews and court records. San Francisco Chronicle: Protesters smashed a large window at President Obama's re-election campaign office in downtown Oakland late Friday night, tore down a nearby fence and vandalized cars , according to police, witnesses and video footage.  Staffers and volunteers were inside the Organizing for America office at 1714 Telegraph Ave. when it was vandalized after 9 p.m., but no one was hurt, said a staffer who declined to be identified. NY Times: Occupy Movement Looks Toward Political Conventions Members of the Occupy movement in Charlotte, N.C., are preparing for the Democratic National Convention in September, but they have been beset by troubles. The romance has long out of this "movement" which seems to be a paid mob sponsored by organized labor in an attempt to embarrass Romney.   They have become more associated with crime and vermin of late.  They will remind voters what they do not like about the left in this country.

NY Times: Why Obama Will Embrace the 99 Percent I think the slogan has always been presumptuous.  I am certainly a long way from being in the top one percent, but I think the Occupy Wall Street crowd has gotten most things wrong including their concerns about income disparity as they call it. I have known several people who were in the top one percent of earners and thought they were people who achieved their success through working hard and being smart.  That is not something that I would ever say about the OWS movement. So if Obama wants to embrace me, he will not earn my vote by using his class warfare rhetoric and his false sense of fairness.

For the most part, the wealthy bust their tail, work 60-80 hour weeks building some game-changing product for the mass market, but at the end of the day they can't enjoy much that the middle class doesn't also enjoy. He does a nice job of turning it around on the "occupy" taunts.  You can tell why this guy was good at prosecuting cases.

This news caused quite a stir, feeding the left's obsession with inequality. Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson, for example, said this "jaw-dropping report" shows "why the Occupy Wall Street protests have struck such a nerve." The New York Times opined that the study is "likely to have a major impact on the debate in Congress over the fairness of federal tax and spending policies." Bradley Schiller: What's so awful about the 1%? Over 70 percent of the countries billionaires are self made.  He list several of them including Steve Jobs.  Most of these people became wealthy by providing products or services other people were willing to pay for. It is wrong to envy their wealth.  We should look instead at emulating their success.
