GOP wants to increase security of officials

Newsmax: With Democrats reportedly talking about obstructing a continuing resolution and forcing a government shutdown by Oct. 1, the White House has requested $58 million from Congress to strengthen security for the executive and judicial branches following the assassination of Charlie Kirk. A White House official confirmed to Newsmax the amount and the request to be included as part of upcoming government funding deal. The funding would expand protection for Supreme Court justices and increase resources for the U.S. Marshals Service, officials said. The request comes ahead of a Sept. 30 government funding deadline, raising pressure on Congress to act quickly The move follows warnings from House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., who this past week said lawmakers face a "deluge" of threats in the wake of Wednesday's Kirk shooting. Johnson has pressed for enhanced security measures for Congress and warned about social media-fueled calls for violence. "We've got to p...

Sen. Kennedy says Dem lunacy good for GOP, but not US

American Action News: Republican Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy appeared on Newsmax Wednesday and said he’s concerned that the increasingly extreme positions of some Democratic lawmakers could simultaneously bolster the Republican Party but still damage the country. In a speech at the Human Rights Campaign event on Monday evening, Democrat Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett stepped up to the podium to voice her criticisms of the Republican leaders in her state and called Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott , who uses a wheelchair, “Governor Hot Wheels” and described him as a “hot ass mess.” During an appearance on “The Record with Greta Van Susteren,” Kennedy said that despite the political gains, he’s concerned for the country’s well-being. “They got beat in the election. And I thought they’d hit rock bottom, but apparently rock bottom has a basement,” Kennedy said. “All this is great for the Republican Party, all this lunacy, but it’s bad for America. And I wish they’d stop it. But, you kn...

Biden and Harris accused of violating the law

Town Hall: A complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission last week by Citizens United and a number of state Republican Party chapters, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are accused of violating federal law in the hours after Biden dropped out of the 2024 race for the White House on July 21. "This complaint is filed pursuant to 52 U.S.C. § 30109(a)(1) against Kamala Harris (FEC DI P80000722), Harris for President (f/k/a Biden for President) (FEC DI 00703975), and Keana Spencer, in her official capacity as Treasurer, for an unprecedented $96 million violation of 52 U.S.C. §30116(f)," the complaint, submitted July 24, 2024 states. "Importantly, Biden and Harris were not their party's nominees for President and Vice President, respectively, for the 2024 general election at the time this all happened. Notably, there also is no record on the FEC's website that Biden filed any paperwork with the Commission announcing that he was no longer a ...

Blacks joining the GOP

NY Post: The nation is experiencing a political “coming out of the closet” moment right now for a significant number of African-Americans who are not only supporting Republican candidates , but also running on the Republican ticket. It’s a long-overdue reckoning of sorts for the Democrats as blacks reconsider — if not outright abandon — the party in favor of the GOP. This shift has been evolving slowly and steadily. In July 2023, for instance, Georgia State Representative, Mesha Mainor switched , a life-long Democrat in a deep blue Atlanta district, switched to the Republican Party making her the first-ever black woman to serve as a Republican in the Georgia General Assembly. What would compel Mainor to make such a bold move? As she noted this past July , “black children cannot read or perform simple math in marginalized communities. In my district, some of the stats show as little as 2% to 3% academic proficiency.” In September 2023, the mayor of Dallas, TX, Eric Johnson also mig...
