 Washington Examiner: Gohmert to compete against Paxton and Bush for Texas attorney general I like all of these guys.  There is also a former Texas Supreme Court Justice running for the job who is a Hispanic Republican woman.   The AG job in Texas is attractive because it is a way to push back against the evils of liberalism imposed by Democrats in Washington.

Louie Gohmert has recovered from the coronavirus and plans to donate plasma in the coming days, he told the  Washington Examiner . “I’m feeling really well, really great, actually,” the Texas Republican said. Gohmert tested positive for the coronavirus on July 29 after taking a test at the White House ahead of a planned trip with President Trump. Gohmert drove to Texas to self-quarantine and suffered several days of mild symptoms, including fatigue, but is now free of the virus, he said. He tested negative for the virus and positive for the coronavirus antibodies this week. Gohmert said that he will donate plasma “as often as I am allowed” to help others recover from the virus. Washington Post: Rep. Gohmert to wage long-shot challenge against Boehner for speaker The Texas Republican railed against Boehner for passing the spending bill with Democratic votes. I think he reflects the dissatisfaction of conservatives with the big spending bill where Republicans after winning a landslide election caved to most of the Democrat demands.  The split appears to be over whether it is worth it to shutdown the government to stop Obama's spending priorities.
