Because of the Schumer shutdown there is a dangerous possibility that the men and women who risk their lives defending America and their families will not be paid. As an Army brat (my father spent 26 years in the infantry and served in World War Two, Korea, and Vietnam) I know how tight finances can be and how much military families depend on the government keeping its word and paying them on time. The Senate can avoid all this pain and confusion among our military families by simply passing HR5731 immediately.
