Media shocked that Trump's calling off meeting with Nork leader has put the talks back on track

NY Times:

Kim Wants ‘Complete Denuclearization,’ South’s Leader Says

In a surprising diplomatic move, the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, said he wanted to meet President Trump to discuss a “complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula,” said President Moon Jae-in of South Korea.
Probably even more surprised at the gang at the Washington Post which has been gloating over the perceived failure of Trump.  It is almost like they were rooting for failure.  They were quick to quote Democrat "experts" who were eager to say Trump did not know what he was doing and had no idea how to negotiate.

Kim's reluctance may have been caused by his concern that he would be removed from power.  It would be a valid concern if he were dealing with Obama or Hillary Clinton, but that is one of the reasons why they would not be able to make a deal, to begin with.  That is why he has been making noises about Libya and what those two did with that country.
