Democrat radicals in the party will make it harder for a candidate to attrack moderates and anti-Trumpers

Washington Examiner:
A Republican political strategist said that the Democrats demise in 2020 will be caused by the progressive faction of the party.
“Democrats seem to have responded to the election of Mr. Trump not by pushing forward sensible, moderate candidates who understand the fundamentals of government and policy but rather far-left legislators in Congress and policy like the late-term-abortion laws in Virginia and New York,” Liz Mair wrote in a New York Times opinion article.
She specifically mentioned that recently elected Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., and Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., helped push the party further left and from party line-skirters.

She claims that those initially opposed to Trump are considering voting for him in 2020 as the Democratic Party pushes further left, and says the "Never Trump" Republican movement is “no longer playing much of a role in the actual biosphere.”
...
I think Trump has also solidified his support from voters who were initially reluctant to embrace him.  His appointment and many of his promised kept have lessened most of the nervousness about him.   While he was always effective at rallying his base at his free form rallies, he has shown skill in more scripted presentations like his recent State of the Union speech and the one he gave in Florida to refugees where he condemned the despots in Venezuela.  These speeches appealed to independents as well as supporters.
