I think Trump's critics are losing credibility
David Thorton:
A week after CNN was touting its own poll showing the lowest popularity ever, they went with a Marist poll showing the highest rating ever for Trump. But if you look at the Rasmussen poll which gives Trump consistently higher approval numbers it shows a less volatile swing. I think the less consistent polls have the same problem of polls during the campaign. They reflect the attempts of Democrats to demonize Trump from time to time. People become unwilling to associate with a demonized figure publicly although they do still support him.
Here's What's Behind Trump's Recent Polling BumpThorton attributes the increased popularity mainly to the tax cuts. I think they are a large part of the increase, but I also think the Russian collusion and "Obstruction of justice" arguments pushed by Democrat partisans have also lost their steam from a lack of evidence to support the allegations.
