Those behind the anti-2nd Amendment marches in Washington and elsewhere tried to hide their identity to make it look like this was a grass roots effort

Why did sponsors of ‘March for our lives’ spend so much money to hide their identities?
In order to keep their identity secret, they did it in a way that was non-tax deductible.  In some states, this led to the cost of their advocacy being twice as high as it normally would just to keep from reporting their expenditures.
