Marine commandos cleared of war crimes charges in Afghanistan

Washington Post:
Fred Galvin and six other Marines were smeared by a Taliban lie that was amplified by senior U.S. officers. Now Galvin’s permanent record will be wiped clean, an extraordinary affirmation of his claim that their reputations were destroyed by the military’s effort to imprison the men.
What will happen to those who falsely accused these Marines of war crimes?  Why did the commanders fall for the Taliban lies?  Does this reflect on their judgment as commanders?  These Marines deserve more than just having their records cleaned.  This was an attack not only on their reputation but also an attack on the Marine Corps special forces.  It needs to be dealt with.
