Name that Party--Democrat corruption on the border

For a region trying to salvage its reputation after being labeled a hotbed of public corruption, the news in Hidalgo County this week wasn’t good.
Former Hidalgo County Sheriff Guadalupe “Lupe” Treviño, a nine-year veteran of the office and a fixture of the region’s Democratic Party, pleaded guilty on Monday to federal charges of money laundering. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas said the former lawman “received cash contributions for his election campaign from alleged drug trafficker Tomas 'El Gallo' Gonzalez.”
The plea came just two months after border Democrats very publicly admonished Republican attorney general and gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott for comments he made likening corruption on the border to “third world” conditions. During a subsequent stop in El Paso, he expanded on the comments, adding that corruption occurs everywhere in Texas.
On Monday, Abbott was quick to tweet the news of Treviño’s downfall: “Election Fraud on Border: Trail of money given to Hidalgo Co. Sheriff's campaign by alleged drug traffickerhttp://shar.es/T2S8z." 
He also tweeted about last week’s conviction of Maria P. Medina, Treviño’s former chief of staff and campaign manager, who admitted to authorities that she falsified records to conceal the money trail. Abbott’s plan to secure the border, he tweeted, would end the lure of corruption for public officials.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
