Administration fails to get political support for education program
NY Times:
This probably is one explanation for why Democrats are doing so poorly with married women voters. They are not happy with how the program is effecting their children. I generally think having minimum standards is a good idea, but they have to be standards that make sense and a top down approach without input from parents is not sitting well.Republicans See Political Wedge in School Standards
The Common Core, a set of national educational standards, is seen by some conservatives as federal overreach. But in contrast to the Affordable Care Act, it has Republican defenders.
