Aerospace giant to open cyber security operation in San Antonio

San Antonio Express-News:
Lockheed Martin will bring a new cyber facility and 100 jobs to Port San Antonio as the first tenant of the port’s Project Tech.

The aerospace company will house its Cyber Solutions operations in more than 15,000 square feet of the 90,000 Project Tech building, which the port built to attract more cyber security jobs to its campus.

Lockheed Martin will be doing defense industry-related cyber work at the port.

“We are inspired by our customers’ missions and seek to partner with them to make the world a safer place,” said Deon Viergutz, Lockheed Martin vice president of Cyber Solutions. “By increasing our investment in the area of cyberspace mission support, we are better-positioned to support the growing needs of organizations on or near the Port, such as the 24th and 25th Air Forces and the National Security Agency.”

The move is the first for the port’s new Project Tech building, which is located across the street from a building that houses companies like defense contractor Booz Allen Hamilton.

Multiple intelligence operations are based in San Antonio including the National Security Agency and some of the Air Force’s intelligence operations.
