Democrats hoping tribal conduct by Hispanics will give their candidate a shot in Texas

Texas Monthly:
Just How Doomed Is Lupe Valdez?

She made history by becoming the first Latina nominated by a major political party to run for governor of Texas. Will that historic moment become nothing more than a footnote?
Hispanics in Texas are not one dominical voters.   In fact, there are successful Hispanic Republican officeholders.  It should also be noted that Gov. Abbott who is running for re-election against Valdez is married to a Hispanic.  Valdez has also been a lackluster candidate with baggage like unpaid property taxes.  Add the problem of having to defend the evils of liberalism in Texas and she has a big challenge on her hands.
