Alleged terrorist tells a different story, but intelligence reports suggest otherwise

Daily Mail:

French train gunman LAUGHS as he denies terrorism and says he found his guns in a children's playground...while his father says he is 'a good boy' who'd never kill anyone

But in an adjoining headline:
Moroccan terrorist, 26, who was taken down by hero airman 'fought with ISIS in Syria and was known to FOUR intelligence agencies'
Well, his story of how he acquired the weapons is laughable.  But it makes a larger point.  Restritive gun controls in Europe do not stop an alleged attempted mass murderer from getting one.
