Iran complains about detention of diplomats?

Gateway Pundit links to a couple of stories where Iran is complaining about the US seizure of some of its diplomats in Iraq. While I enjoy the irony, it should be pointed out that when two of those arrested were determined to be diplomats they were turned over to the Iraqis and released. Contrast that with the Iran hostage taking of all those in the US embassy in Tehran and holding them for over a year. The best thing for the US that came out of that situation was the defeat of Jimmy Carter.

Westhawk speculates on the reasons for the arrest. I tend to believe the reasons given, i.e. they had credible intelligence that the Iranians were planning attacks. If that is the case then the real question should be what were the Iraqis doing hosting them.
