Cohen's taxi business financed with loans being questioned by feds

NY Times:

Cohen Is Being Investigated for Loans in Excess of $20 Million

  • Federal authorities investigating whether Michael D. Cohen, President Trump’s former personal lawyer, committed bank and tax fraud have zeroed in on loans obtained by taxi businesses that he and his family own.
  • Any criminal charges against Mr. Cohen, which could be filed by the end of the month, would deal a significant blow to the president.
I do not think that unrelated loans to Cohen and his taxis business would result in a "significant blow to the president."  There is no indication in this lead that Trump was involved in the taxi business or with the loans in question.  It looks like an attempt to imply guilt by association.  I get the impression that some in the media are in an endless search for any reason they can come up with to harm the president.
