Frustration builds as officials in Philadelphia refuse to enforce anti-squatter laws across the city

Homeowners across the United States are fighting drawn-out and costly legal battles to remove squatters. In Philadelphia, it can cost upwards of $3,500 to even begin the court process to remove squatters from a residence plus $1,600 to actually move the suspects out and store their belongings for a month, Megan Spangler of Anchor Realty NE told Fox News.

"We're dealing with almost a year to get these people out," Spangler said. "It is a very lengthy process. It's a very expensive one, too."

Lapidus said he thought the city was heading in the right direction several years ago when the council passed an ordinance speeding up the process for removing alleged squatters from residential property and imposing a fine of up to $300 per day that the trespassing continues, plus jail time. It also authorized police to investigate squatting accusations and file affidavits for arrest or search warrants.

"The police refuse to do that," Lapidus said. "And the process itself … has actually only gotten longer rather than shorter. So there is no enforcement of this. And in fact, most of the people you ask today don't even know that this bill was ever passed."

Squatters and Philadelphia officials are making real estate worth less by allowing squatters to take control of other people's property.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
