Liberal media trying desperately to defend the indefensible CRT garbage

The race is on in the MSM to crush the movement against the teaching of Critical Race Theory in public school classrooms just as it’s gaining momentum across the country, with more and more parents, students, and educators rising up in opposition.

We need to look no further for examples of how the media’s war on CRT critics is playing out than “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd, who has made it his mission in recent weeks to proclaim the uprising over Critical Race Theory is nothing more than a faux outrage campaign “created out of thin air by a couple of producers at right-wing media outlets” that has teachers worried as to if “the Tucker Carlsons of the world will character assassinate them.”

Todd’s latest attack on the belief that there should even be an issue with CRT in the first place came during Sunday’s MTP program on NBC News. What started it was, instead of suggesting that concerned citizens attending school board meetings to warn against teaching CRT were being led astray by Tucker Carlson, PBS journalist Amna Nawaz drew on her firsthand reporting on CRT hotbed Loudoun County in Virginia to point out that the issue was “mobilizing people and resonating very deeply”:

And specific to this idea of critical race theory, I have to tell you, I just spent some time reporting on this county in Virginia about an hour outside of Washington. And to [GOP strategist and MTP panelist Brad Todd’s] point, this is something that is mobilizing people and resonating very deeply. It was about a 100-degree day. Dozens and dozens and dozens of parents, mostly white, in this largely affluent county, showed up to a school board meeting—for many of them, the very first school board meeting they’d ever attended—specifically because of this one issue.

Matters were further complicated for Todd, who you could tell from the clip below was chomping at the bit to refute what was being said, when GOP strategist Brad Todd (no relation) correctly noted that this was a grassroots movement driven by people who had become fed up with the education system after the pandemic started:

Brad Todd: That’s important to note, that you mentioned critical race theory a couple times. This is a parent-led backlash at the grassroots level.
Chuck Todd: But it’s manufactured —
Brad Todd: No.
Chuck Todd: — and then sort of —
Brad Todd: — elected officials —
Chuck Todd: — the fire was lit.
Brad Todd: I disagree. I think it started because parents have had it with the education bureaucracy after Covid. They’re fed up with it. They tend to trust Democrats when it comes to education funding, but they trust Republicans on education accountability. I think that what the backlash you’re seeing on critical race theory in schools is another example of parents trying to hold educators accountable.

Todd's attempt to claim the outrage is "manufactured" was quickly rebutted by actual reporters.  The anger against the teaching of this racist garbage is real and is growing.
