Democrats alienating Hispanic voters

 There have been plenty of autopsies done by partisans and academics, and plenty of interesting takeaways from the election, particularly on what happened with Hispanics and why. The answer is ideology. Today, Hispanic voters tend to be slightly center-right, ideologically, and closer to independents at a time when the Democratic Party is heading further and further left.

It's a long analysis but let me give you the short version: the party lives in San Francisco, and Hispanics live in Texas.

We saw this recently with the "heartbeat law."  The Texas Democrat party does not endorse the law on the grounds that it takes away your "reproductive rights."  On the other hand, most Hispanic women are probably saying, don't you hear a baby's heartbeat inside that "mami"?

We will see in 2022.  I will go out and predict that Democrats have left the Hispanics behind on many issues, from abortion to border control.

Democrats also misjudge the Hispanic voters on the immigration issue.  Hispanic Texans have been Texans for generations and were here and participated in the Texas revolution.  They see the illegals as interlopers who are trampling their property.  Most are unhappy with the Biden-Harris open borders policy as was demonstrated when Harris made a brief visit to El Paso.  They do not like the fact that the Biden policy has also opened the borders to the drug cartels.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014. When the Congressional Budget Office crunched Obamacare's spending numbers, they estimated that only 7% of employees currently covered by employer-sponsored plans would lose their plans. ...
