These people would do a better job for their districts if they stopped whining and insulting Trump

NY Times:

Trump Sets Off Backlash With Attack on Civil Rights Icon

  • Outrage over President-elect Donald J. Trump’s criticism of Representative John Lewis is driven by what many blacks see as his lack of understanding of their reverence for the civil rights movement.
  • Several members of Congress said they would not attend the inauguration, and would meet with activists to discuss strategies to oppose Mr. Trump’s administration.
Why do they have such reverence for a guy who has become a serial liar about racism?   It appears that nearly every time he is confronted by opposition to an agenda, such as Obamacare he starts hallucinating about people calling him racial slurs.

When he attacks Trump as an illegitimate President, he deserves criticism and the fact that some Democrats attacked 50 years ago is not Trump or any other Republicans fault.  Get over it.  We are glad you have civil rights.  Republicans were much more supportive of civil rights than Democrats and people like Lewis don't give them the respect they deserve.

What I find really disgusting is that Democrats have lost the ability to reason when confronted by policies they do not support.  They immediately resort to calling opponents racist, sexists, bigots, and homophobes and they use people like Lewis as props for that bogus argument.  Icons do not have the right to slander their opposition.

What happened to all the Democrats who were saying it was unAmerican to question the legitimacy of the election when they thought their candidate was going to win?

Look, I was not a Trump supporter.  But, he won the election and I am willing to give him a chance.  I have been impressed with the quality of his cabinet selections for the most part.
