The McConnell fold

strieff:
I’m more than happy to bid a fond adieu to Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) N/A%, but let’s be serious. The real problem is Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) 54%. McConnell is afraid of Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) 13% and he apparently equates surrendering to Reid with bipartisanship and with governing. Boehner’s failures were legion but, if we are to be fair to the man, at some point he had to start thinking that bruising legislative battles really weren’t worth the candle if Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) 54% was going to fold without a fight.
...
The rest of the Senate leadership is going along with this mess and trying to freeze out any Senator who objects to the surrender to common sense.  They are especially angry with Ted Cruz for exposing their game of show votes meant to appease voters angry about their lack of a backbone in fights with the Democrats and Obama.  They keep funding the evils of liberalism under the misguided belief that people would rather see that than see them fight it.  They are the reason so many voters are looking for an outside in the Presidential race.
