Why the anti gun lobby is so unpersuasive
Lawrence O'Donnell calls the NRA "Lobbyist for Mass Murder." I am pretty sure there is no one in the NRA who favors mass murder. But, when people like O'Donnell use such phrases they have just lost any prospect of changing someones attitude. It is an appeal to the emotions of people who oppose the NRA, but in doing so he is preaching to the anti gun choir. Insults are not appeals to logic nor are they persuasive. But from Piers Morgan and others in the media there has been a lot of raw edged insults. They will sell a lot of guns that way, but they want change the minds of the people buying them. The "blood on their hands" charges are more likely to make their opponents think there is something lack in the comprehension of the speaker.
