Enemy blows bridge on supply line to Afghanistan

PressTV:

Militants blow up a key bridge on a Pak-Afghan highway in the Khyber Agency in Pakistan suspending a NATO supply line to Afghanistan.

The incident happened Friday evening hours after US President Barack Obama announced his new strategy for Afghanistan and Pakistan to defeat Taliban and al-Qaeda.

Local officials told Press TV that militants detonated the key bridge with explosives in the Landi Kotal area of Khyber Agency.

They also attacked a truck terminal on the route as well as sending in a human bomb to explode in a mosque. The items appear to be part of an information op to counter the announcement of Obama's new Afghan strategy. The media did not give them the attention that the enemy had desired since the discussion of the new strategy overshadowed the enemy explosions. Unfortunately the new strategy did little to address the supply line problem.
