Burkett and Buckhead

In the market place of ideas on the internet both Bill Burkett and Buckhead expess their point of view in discussion groups that attract people who are more intense than the rest of us. Buckhead is apparently a Freeper, one who hangs out at FreeRepublic.com where conservative topics are discussed. Burkett haunted the Texas Democrat discussion groups. However, Burkett apparently was frustrated in getting his ideas across to people in the Kerry campaign. He called Max Cleland and later got a CBS producer to get Joe Lockhart to call him to listen to his ideas.

The irony is that if he really had a good idea it would have perculated up. The best example is Buckhead, who with one posting got the attention of other bloggers and eventually the whole world. The power of a good idea works its way to the top.

I am reminded of a sucessful businessman who had several resturants. A college graduate came to him for a management job. He told the young graduate that he would give him a job as a waiter in one of his resturants. "If you do a good job, I will hear about it and you will get your chance at management."

What is clear is that whatever Burkett told the senior people in the Kerry campaign, if they followed his advice, it is not working. If he was talking with them about his majic documents, it has blown up in their face. It is amazing to contrast the power of a few truthful words like those from Buckhead.
