US to use drone submarine hunters

Daily Mail:

The Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Continuous Trail Unmanned Vessel (ACTUV) is developing an unmanned vessel optimized to robustly track quiet diesel electric submarines. The US Navy's 'ghost hunter' hits the water: Robo-boats set to track down silent enemy submarines for months at a time

The ACTUV will be able to operate for several months at a time scouring the seas and coastal areas for silent, diesel powered enemy submarines, and is being tested in Mississippi.
This appears to be a more cost effective than using more expensive hunter killer subs to chase the new subs.  The drone will have sophisticated electronics that will help it track the new ultra quite subs.
