Hostility toward Israel not a winning Issue for GOP voters

NY Times:

For G.O.P., Support for Israel Becomes New Litmus Test

Party members like James A. Baker III have learned that anything but unquestioning support for the Jewish state can mean trouble.
There is strong support for Israel among Republican voters and candidates who don't share that support will be hurt at the ballot box.  I think the anti Israel mood in the administration is also a mistake both politically and strategically.   It will hurt Democrats in the long run.
