Bergdahl charged with desertion

NY Times:

Soldier Once Held by Taliban Is Charged With Desertion

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl disappeared from his Army outpost in Afghanistan in 2009 and was held by the Taliban for five years. Officials say there is little desire to see him serve time.
The other troops in his unit have been pretty insistent that Bergdahl left his unit and there was some radio traffic which also indicated he was looking to join with the Taliban.  It makes the deal to free Taliban terrorist look even worse.  Some will see it as confirmation of Obama's poor negotiating skills.  Those skills have also been challenged because of his Cuba deal and his current negotiations with Iran.

Meanwhile three of the Taliban five have tried to reconnect with their terrorist comrades.
