Taliban demonstrate bad faith in hostage deal

Times:

Two foreign aid workers who helped to free South Korean hostages last month from the Taleban were taken captive when they were about to secure the release of a German, officials said.

Militants had released the German, Rudolf Blechschmidt, but then recaptured him, along with two Red Cross workers and their two Afghan drivers, an Afghan official said.

...

Police had surrounded the captors in the Sayed Abad district, according to the chief of the area, Enayatullah Mangal. He said that efforts were being made to secure the release of the hostages.

...

The Taliban are just not very good at anything. How do they expect to extort concessions if they keep doing things like this? For a groups of RICO artist they are the gang that can't set up a decent ambush and now can't even do a hostage exchange.
