Democrats paying a price for their opposition to voter integrity policies

NY Times:

Donald Trump’s Threat to Reject Election Results Alarms Scholars

Mr. Trump’s claims that the vote will be “rigged” and “taken away from us” erodes popular faith in democracy, political scientists say.
Voter ID would go a long way toward curing this problem as well as scrubbing the voter rolls of dead people and double registrations.   Democrats oppose these policies because it makes it harder for them to cheat.  Those who argue that they do not cheat are not paying attention.  Most of their arguments against the voter integrity measures are racist with Democrats claiming that minorities do not have the intellect or capacity to get IDs.  That is as absurd as it is racists.

There is also the blatant hostility to Republican candidates by many in the media.  This gives the Democrats an unfair advantage.  When the media thinks it has no obligation to fairness it makes it easier for those they oppose to believe the system is "rigged."

Any win by Hillary Clinton will be seen as illegitimate by a significant number of voters making it even harder for her to govern.  Voter integrity measures would have made it harder to claim an illegitimate result from the voting.
