Venezuela hosting FARC terrorist

Colombian authorities have proof that high-ranking leaders of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, live in Venezuela, the Colombian government said Thursday.

Colombian President Alvaro Uribe issued a statement listing their names.

Among them is one with the alias "Ivan Marquez;" Rodrigo Granda, whose alias is "Ricardo;" Timoleon Jimenez, whose alias is "Timochenko;" German Briceno, whose alias is "Grannobles;" and Carlos Marin Guarin, whose alias is "Pablito." The president said there are other "integral members" of the group in Venezuela.

Security analysts have said FARC guerrillas operate mostly in Colombia but have carried out extortion, kidnappings and other activities in Venezuela, Panama and Ecuador.

FARC is accused of trafficking in cocaine to finance its insurgency and the group has thousands of supporters, mostly in rural areas.

FARC has to hide it leadership in Venezuela, because it is no longer safe in Colombia. It is also hiding its dope operations in countries like Ecuador, Bolivia and Venezuela. The latter is a transit point for dope being flown to Africa for distribution in Europe. Many of the African distributors are affiliated with al Qaeda. Venezuela is flirting with being labeled a state sponsor of terrorism.

    Thousands of trade unionists, farmers, and indigenous people have been murdered by militias linked to the Colombian Administration. Many thousands have fled to neighbouring nations including Venezuela. Some may well sympathise with the forces fighting the government.

    Most drugs entering USA do not come from Venezuela - or the ALBA nations. They come from US allies - Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Afghanistan.

    Venezuela is not flirting with anyone - but it is labled with being a state sponsor of terrorism - Not because it sponsors any, becuase it does not support universal United States hegemony.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
