Pelosi's big lie

She has probably told herself so often that she believes it but it is not true. After the House vote for surrender in Iraq she did it again.

“Last fall, the American people voted for a new direction in Iraq,” said Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Democrat of California. “They made it clear that our troops must be given all they need to do their jobs, but that our troops must be brought home responsibly, safely, and soon.”

Republicans accused Democrats of establishing a “date certain” for America’s defeat in Iraq and capitulating to terrorism.

“This bill is nothing short of a cut and run in the fight against Al Qaeda,” said Representative Harold Rogers, Republican of Kentucky.

In fact they spent the fall assuring voters that they would not cut and run from Iraq. Right after the election Harry Reid was assuring voters that the Democrat majority would not cut off funds for the troops. A month later he was still saying that more troops were needed. That apparently was his opinion until the President decided to send more troops. The Democrats keep proving that they should never be trusted with national security and that they should never be believed when they say they will not cut and run. The are officially the Defeatocrats.
