US Department of Defence calls offshore wind license areas “highly problematic”
Areas of the east coast of the US have been deemed unsuitable for offshore wind development due interference with Department of Defence operations.
Most of these areas are used for military training purposes. The offshore wind developments have also been attacked by environmentalists for their effects on whales and other sea creatures. Wind farms have also been criticized for their fragility with pictures of destroyed wind mills.
