Democrat politicians seem to think unity means everyone agreeing with them

 Washington Examiner:

Biden, like Obama, promises unity but doesn't deliver

With his polling in the 30s, it seems clear that his brand of unity is in opposing his policies.

Tucker Carlson nails it:

Fox News host Tucker Carlson blasted President Joe Biden in the immediate aftermath of his bitterly partisan and divisive speech to the nation on the tragic elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas in which 18 elementary school children and one teacher were killed.

Carlson, who suspected Biden might decide to further divide the country during his speech warned viewers moments prior to the President coming to the podium that “if the President uses the deaths of children to try to make himself more powerful, he really is a loathsome man unworthy of leading this country.” But if he doesn’t, Carlson hedged, “he will get praise from us and from every American.”

Sadly, Biden did the former.

Instead of giving a speech to unite and calm a heartbroken nation, Biden decided to go after his political opponents and the “gun lobby.” “As a nation, we have to ask when in God's name are we going to stand up to the gun lobby. When in God's name are we going to do what we all know in our gut needs to be done,” Biden angrily said.

...

Seconds after Biden finished talking and walked out of the room, Carlson tore into Biden:

The President of the United States, frail, confused, bitterly partisan, desecrating the memory of recently murdered children with tired talking points of the Democratic Party. Dividing the country in a moment of deep pain rather than uniting, his voice rising, amplified only as he repeats the talking points he repeated for over 35 years in the United States Senate, partisan politics being the only thing that animates him. Unfit for leadership of this country.

Biden wasn’t alone in his politicization of the shooting in Texas, all afternoon and evening, the vile leftists on CNN, MSNBC, and the network newscasts used the tragedy to target gun owners and make ghoulish comments to stoke further division.
...

It is the kind of statement we have come to expect from Biden.  It is not within him to heal.
