60 Minutes should do a story on their own reporting

John Hinderacker at Power Line does the research that evidently 60 Minutes did not do on its key witness who alleges Karl Rove wanted to dig up dirt on an Alabama Governor who lost an election was was found guilty on several charges. It is the most detailed report I have seen on the controversy. The witnesses credibility is challenged by almost everyone who has had contact with her on the matter and by many who deny having any contact with her.

The Rove part of her story never made any sense to me anyway. The case against Gov. Siegelman did not need any "enhancements" with allegations of sexual misconduct. In fact that would have been a distraction to what was obviously a pretty strong corruption case that resulted in his conviction.

While many have challenged the "witnesses" story, including Gov. Siegelman, and some have challenged her mental condition, when you read Hinderacker's account you have to wonder what 60 Minutes was thinking when they let this story slip through their fact checkers hands.
